Uh . . . anyways, back on the track, here are some of my favorite short anime series/movie.
Kacho-Oji: Hard Rock Save the Space! A.K.A The Legend of Black Heaven (amazingly good, although not too many people have bothered watching it)
Getter Robo (THE best giant robot anime EVER!!)
EAT-MAN 98
Record of Lodoss War OVA
The Big O
Vandred
R.O.D.
Dual!
Harlock Saga
Iria: Zeiram the animation
So, there's a few. And all are definately worth watching.

You sir, have just gained my respect! (I'm not the only one! I'm not insane!!!)Tsunami Jones wrote:Getter Robo (THE best giant robot anime EVER!!)
Anyways, tossing some votes out for:
Lupin III (the series themselves aren't short, but you can easily watch the movies without having seen the show and still understand what you're in for...in particular, I'd recommend Castle of Cagliostro)
and
Gundam 0080: War In the Pocket (Six eps, sad ending, but still a very good OVA, very little actual background info in the Gundam universe needed to follow)

I don't think they ment those kinds of short stories.
Also, I wouldn't mention FY, since you won't really know anyone if you haven't read/watched the previous seasons/mangas.
