For me it's slow drama videos. Every time I try to start one I end up with wondering if I'm starring in a remake of 'Failed Experiments in Video Editing'

As for comedy horror, watch Evil Dead 2 and you'll find the inspiration to do it.

Comedy for me. Although people laugh at videos I try to make fun.

The most difficult genre is comedy... not because it's technically harder than other genres but because it has that unkown element, that X Factor which makes something funny or not. I think this makes comedy the most difficult of all the genres.

As for other types... um 3D is pretty tough :)

i agree making a comedy video is hard, because something funny gets stale over time and over repetitions, and since it takes time and many viewings of your video in progress before you finish, it looks lame and cheesy when you're done.

I dunno, comedy videos always seem fairly easy to me. Whereas I edit my heart out on dramas only to have them recognized by like 3 people ;p

Well the difficulty I see with comedy videos is that you're kind of limited in concepts. Here's what I mean. TYPICALLY, a comedy video adheres to one of the following scenarios:

A) The video uses a song that is intended to be funny (ie; Something by Wierd Al, Sifl & Olly/Liam Lynch, Brak, etc.), henceforth making it a funny video.

B) The video is a parody of something else, taking the source out of context.

C) The video is to a serious song using totally out-of-context footage (like, Mitternacht to Hamtaro), or vice versa, a really happy/poppy song using really serious/depressing footage (like, some Morning Musume song to Jin-Roh)

D) The video depends on AMV in-jokes that are generally only funny to people in the community.

E) The video is based solely on shock value (ie; Dedicated To Wuwu.... )

Now, don't look at this as some kind of attack on comedy videos, or videos that adhere to any of these scenarios. They're generally quite funny and can be some of my very favorites. However, due to the fact that when approaching doing a comedy video, you're usually going to end up adhering to one of these scenarios, it makes coming up with something really original quite challenging. And with a comedy video, originality is probably the most important aspect, since it's hard to make people laugh at the same jokes over and over again. So, that's why I'd say that, typically, good comedy vids are the hardest videos to make, from a concept point of view.

Anyways, that's just my take on it. :)
