An engaging intellectual story with well developed characters.

Something that goes beyond senseless fighting, bouncy boobies, and air-headed characters that act like tards...or super-cliche' mysterious anime characters that have been done 1000 times. (Vash, Spike, Alucard, etc)

Princess Mononoke is a good example of what anime SHOULD be like.

Chobits, Love Hina, Prince of Tennis, Trigun, Card Captor Sakura, Outlaw star, Ah! My Goddess, are examples of what anime SHOULDN'T be like.
You are completely useless.

I know I'll grab his arms and you punch the crap outta of him :)
Seriously, I like shows that grab me emotion wise. The action of
the Read or Dream Tv series or the drama of Saikano or Gunslinger
Girl. If I would make a series it would be oddly dramatic , haunting,
yet sarcatically funny. As for ideas of what to base it off of I have none.

Well i think that this question is based on personal preference... but for me a good anime series/manga would have to have a gripping hook from the beginning, a good over all plot/story and some good anime character drawings ... i cant think of other things right now so thats wat imma put for now ... 8)

Since I'm fantasy prone, and I like anime that has adventure as well as fighting/drama/etc, I'd probably go to some of my old favorite books. I think Anne McCafrey's dragonrider series would make a great anime series, especially if they kept it from becoming just a flashy show (kept the character interraction, side stories - like the Harper Hall arc). A short one I'd enjoy animated would be Robin McKinley's (sp) 'Blue Sword' and the sequel book - that would make a nice two-movie anime, or even an arc if they cut the chapters into episodes.

Namely it's bringing fantasy novels to animated 'life' - the main thing I enjoy most about the anime I like now.

Or better yet, Red Dwarf! It would add a member to the extremely short list of anime android males.

Seriously though, I would love to see a King of Fighters anime, either as an OAV series or as a bunch of movies. After working on the Fatal Fury movies, I figured that Masami Obari would get right to work on a KOF anime. I haven't played KOF '97 yet (cause I'm STILL working on beating '99 with all of the official teams) but after going over the general plot descriptions, I think '97 would be one of the best anime movies ever.
Probably too busy to be here right now.
