Trigun is WAY ovverrated.
I bought the boxset, thinking it was going to be good(And because I watched Hakura's eden video). But in actuality, that had to be one of the worst production jobs ever.
Yes, Trigun had a FANTASTIC storyline, yes it had great things happening in it, and yes, it has memorable characters and awesome animation.
But the fact of the matter is, NOTHING Happens until the 2nd half of the series. NOTHING!
You've got this funny character building stuff, then ONE forshadow of something. Then you have the Flashback episode, which I think was useless, and the Rem episode. It was the rem episode that actually starts something. From there on the series was produced and put together really well.
But the stupid part was that 90% of everything happened in the last episode. Why didn't they break it up?
And for that matter, Why have so many useless episodes in the beginning, and all the serious ones at the end? They could have balanced it out.
And in case you're wondering, I DO like Trigun, I just did not like the way the episodes were put together.

When I first watched Trigun, I wasn't too impressed. I thought it was just a rather shallow... somewhat funny show... couldn't begin to understand the hype...
but as the show moved on, I was more and more impressed with it. Lots of nice ubtle things going on in the show. I love the fact that somethings were going on just below the radar... and suddenly it hits you what you're seeing.
(Like the Milly/Wolfwood relationship)
I felt the ending was strong. I don't think anything felt unresolved.
I think it's a great series...

There are two kinds of people in this world:
Those who divide people into two kinds of groups
and those who don't.

I agree with some independent opinions voiced in here. I saw trigun before I knew it was hyped at all. I have to say now, after being exposed to the hype, is that indeed it is a very overrated show. Someone stated that they thought the show was overrated because of its first half. I am the opposite. I thought the first half was light hearted and fun and the second half was dreary and dull. The Ending worked for me, because it was a symbolic victory in addition to a physical one. If not for such a well done ending, I would probably dislike Trigun.
Oh and by the way, I do like Inuyasha more, A lot more, but then again, the reason I am so engrossed and emotionally involved with that anime is because of Kikyo, whom most people hate.
