Via email. ^_^

That way I won't get the straight 10s that make people flame you for padding your score, and the typical flames (for genre, not editing skill or quality issues) won't be counted against the scores. Plus it's easier to have a conversation with someone via email than it is merely replying to/editing a review.

I get more feedback via email than I do official reviews, and I rather like it that way (probably a hangover from my fanfiction days - emails tend to be longer than reviews). ^_^ And it let's me get to know the viewers better.

This was a LJ comment I got a while ago from an anonymous AMV creator.

"Listen up buddy. You are the most mediocre, untalented little fucker I've ever met. You are going nowhere. Don't ever think you are. You think you're so cool because you help newbies, but you're really not. You're a whiny little bitch. Stay the fuck away from anime music videos because you suck!"

It immediately got the X button. People who lower my self asteem aren't worth my time.

People that criticize others for sucking in a way such as that guy are much worse than any bad video creator. :?

or any bad video. I'd rather watch a horrible video then meet the guy that wrote that.

Well, after all, pained silence is probably the nastiest (and most effective) insult. People who hate Christianity are hardly half the problem to it that people who are indifferent to it are. I'm sure you know the kind I mean: "Uh... yeah... That's nice. Pass me the Jello, please." (If you get to talking about anything too intellectual for a third-grader, this kind also says "You think too much.") Seven curses on "normal" society!

I've never gotten any hate mail myself, other than a complete lack of reviews on some of my later works in spite of their having drawn several hundred downloaders (hint, hint). I did, however, get a very amusing experience out of checking the profile of one of the guys who gave me a nice review. He was an anti-American Commie! I, the flag-waving capitalist Republican, could not have been more his political opposite. Your enemies really do sometimes tell you things you wouldn't hear from your friends.

So I was cleaning up email, and guess what I found? The 3rd, 4th, and 5th emails every received on my ermacstudios email address were all from Mr. Sam Farha. Oh the irony, 3 out of my 5 first emails were hate mail. =D
Thought I'd post them here, since I think the last time I ever posted them was back on the Phorum.
Sammy wrote:eh No offense but that picture you took of yourself looks horrifying do a new pic dude

Also I dont like your Music Videos! i dont know what your trying to with them ? i you think i dont know what im talking about then check my vid out and you ll see -

download 'generation x'

then you will see what anime music videos a all about
I wrote:Normally I woudn't respond to such poorly written and inflammatory emails, but I just had to respond after seeing your little "video".

If you think you know what you're talking about, get a clue. If I wanted to make a video that was nothing but an amalgamation of fight scenes, then I would, but I'm trying to do much more artistic things with my videos. And if you read the site, you'll see that the two videos I have posted are what I consider my worst - I only post them for posterity since they were the first ones I did.Come back around April 1st-April 2nd and I'll have all 4 videos that I'm entering at FanimeCon up. Then we'll see what you think.

I wonder why you even bothered writing that email. When you make a video with some artistic substance, like something dramatic where the song actually has something to do with the video, let me know.
In reply, Sammy wrote:Did You even download the vid? Cause it about generations of anime! (DUH) Its got a shit load of lyric matching, action and comedy! Your a proffessional music video maker right?
Then you should notice all that stuff!

I will come to your site on April! and see what you have.
But I wont hold my breathe.
In retort, I wrote:How is it about "Generations" of anime? All the anime you use is from winthin the last 5 years or so. And if by "lyric matching" you mean fitting a single scene to parts of a lyric, that's far from making an artistic video. You need to have some overriding message in a video if you want to make art. Having tons of action doesn't make a great music video.

And no I don't do this professionally. This is all done in my spare time. I don't make any money off this stuff.
To which Sammy wrote:But theres lip sycning in mine beat matching lyric matching
All rolled up into one little file. I also did head banging and other cool stuff! why dont you try my Ken Music Video
maybe that will impress you?
At which points I just stopped caring.

I guess you can't blame him. 20 years in Sydney would do that to anyone.
