Why is this not do-able? How are we supposed to correct our double posting-isms? How can these tragic accidents be undone? Why must we make new posts to explain ourselves?

You know what? I don't even care anymore.

You can use the preview button to make sure you don't have a mistake in what you post. As for 'double-posts' try not to click the 'send/post' button twice and that won't happen. They don't want people to be able to edit their posts - I think it's to make people think before they post, because they won't be able to go back and change them later.

What the mods don't want to have to deal with is such a large number of people being able to change any of their posts at any given moment. That means they'd have to keep monitoring every thread constantly instead of just the new posts. Some people, even if it's just a very small percentage, would abuse the editing power.

Also, just preview. :?
