Okay..here's a hopefully short rant that just crossed my mind. I've noticed recently a bunch of people asking what program can do this effect..and what program can do that transition (in Video Software Help, you know who you are)....and i'm wondering...what ever happened to just taking the time and effort to compile that effect/transition yourself...I mean..hell..A.D. made that tripped out psycodelia effect from scratch...not quite sure why..but he did a rather fine job doing it. I see an effect and find out that it was created with some other piece of software, but I don't dispare...I either search for an alternate version of that effect I can use...or "make it myself" using my methods of lame ass trickery and half assed editing madness that I've led myself to believe I'm good enough to do so. Where's the point of editing something if you can't do it yourself?

It's because there are a lot of lazy people out there, myself included. However, like you said, I'm willing to experiment and find out how to do things. There are others that want to hit to "cool" button and have an award winning video.

Those others also just want to hit the "make award winning video" button as soon as they open up their editor.

Any of the effects in my videos made before Weakness Apart were done completely by hand. Thank you crappy editing software... Regardless, I like mixing and customizing the effects that premiere gives you to create your own brand of effect. Experimentation is the best way to be original

Doing effects yourself went the same way deinterlacing did. People just don't do it anymore.
