Project Genius will be unveiled soon. Until then, this is only pissing people off and creating hype WE DON'T WANT. WE aren't hyping this project. This is just something we wanted to do. Please just let it be.

The only problem I see is advertisment in some sigs for something they don't want to talk about...
what about removing these pictures in the sigs while the "thing" is secret ?

Again, just pulling your leg folks. Besides, where do you see me promoting Genius?

(ain't gonna find it nowhere... sarcastic implications don't count).

As for the sig, I promise I'll take it off once we know just what this means. It's only there in a feeble (and failing) attempt to keep certain egos at bay...

First off, it seems like alot of people think that the Project Genius people think that we're better than everyone else and that's why we're not letting them in on the secret o_O

Not in the least. Like I said, I'm sorry that we have to keep it a secret, but trust me, you'll understand once the project is reveiled.

As far as putting up sig banners, that was each individual members choice. I never forced anyone to use them. It was no different from putting something about our favorite band/anime in our sigs. It just happens to be unfortunate that we can't talk about what it's displaying. But does that mean that we don't have the right to put it there? Just like you guys have every right to have your banners mocking the project (which believe me, I do actually find quite funny

).

We're still hard at work on the project and again, what I've seen so far is just awesome. And it's only going to get better the farther we get in to it.

Oh, I'm not a skeptic by nature. I think it may be a mighty fine project, and I look forward to it.

In fact, I'm also quite sympathetic to the creators.

My parodying of it is mostly parodying outward aspects and possible impressions people may have of the situation - which, essentially, could be interpreted as elitism by some people.

Look at it this way, we never saw any recruitment announcements, never saw any preview writeups or notes and plans of it, it just suddenly showed up in a bunch of well-known editor's sigs. And then when people queried, the response was all 'oh you wait and see'.

I doubt this takes away from the quality of the project, but the introduction is a little pretentious...

Is it working to hype the project? You bet. Is that good? A question.

Personally, I know there was no ill intention or attempt to create massive hype behind the sigs, but at this point it would seem like it may have backfired...
