Remake versus Remaster

I know I couldn't remake a vid without completely changing the timing - I'd want to do older vids of mine - ones made before I had any experience editing. And those vids are currently ruined by the lack of editing - solid original concepts suffering from poor execution. But to remake those and post them with separate links on the donut...that doesn't seem right. Not only would it clog my already stressed profile page, but I don't think it's encouraged or even allowed in the strictest sense.

My main goal here was to find out from Phade or a mod whether or not remakes should be posted as original vids, or if it's better to beg patiently for a few months for a replacement and never upload a vid again that may need 'remaking' someday in the distant future (when our editing skills have grown yet again).

I *don't* think we should upload remakes as separate vids, no matter how completely different they are - not when remasters aren't allowed (who judges the difference? all I can go by is the creator's vid description unless I check each vid looking for differences in editing as well as quality). But at the same time, I see many great editors who have remakes listed in their profiles that are loaded to the donut (as well as the originals) - and that makes me want to do the same now that I can look back at my original vids as if they were made by a completely different person. I *want* to do it so a viewer can compare the original and the remake and see all the differences. But this is the donut.

I need the matter defined better.

I don't see why a remake wouldn't be allowed. It's practically a different video, but with the same song, anime, and (I'm assuming) concept. That happens all the time with LBZ vids so I don't see why remakes wouldn't be allowed if unoriginal LBZ vids are (and, yes, the same happens with other anime and songs but LBZ is the most popular which is why I use it for comparison ^_^).

Ah, but it's different with repetitive vids made by new members - they don't know any better. I'm fairly sure we're not supposed to do remakes, the only doubt I have is that it hasn't been confirmed yet. So I know better. ^_^;

I'm just looking for a confirmation one way or the other.
