I agree that there is a lot of crap being made/uploaded to the Donut, I'm not denying that. I do, however, have a problem with blatant prejudging like you did. I'm not saying that I haven't done it myself, but I try not to. As for this video, I did watch it all the way through, and I agree in one aspect with what Izumi said. Sure, the compression of the A/V makes is look and sound like shit. However, I thought there were many good points in the video. Not everything made sense, there was a lot of bad timing, but there was some good timing too. MJ would like parts of this because of blatant lyric sync. All in all, it wasn't a great video. However, I did enjoy it. I'd want to give it a 2.5 on the star rating, but I'll most likely give it a 2. I would suggest watching this video, dokool, with an open mind, and then post your opinions here.dokool wrote:while I admit that my initial post *was* harsh, I still grow frustrated by the amount of crap (as indicated by Izumi's post after having watched the video, which I give him immense credit for actually doing) that's on the 'Org and the Donut. There has to be a point where you look at all of the unoriginal, uninspired, low-quality videos that get uploaded here and decide that you've had enough.

Well seeing as how the service is based on donations and the only person running it is phade i dont see how anyone here besides him can say what goes on and what dosent. And im pretty sure in his guidelines it dosent say you cant upload videos that are 2 mb. What kind of community trys to demolish the hopes of those joining it? :/

..actuallyi think it's my worst..But anyways! I understand where dokool is coming from. People do ALOT of frustrating things and you want to fix them, it happens to us all so i'm not bad. It's Constructive Critisism! I like it. And YES the sound WAS recorded
. But that was before i got a WinMX, and a new comp. So now my AMV's are MUCH better. Anways, i'm deleting that one off a-m-v.org since i don't like it and no one else does. Thanks for the help ^.^...OH! and the other thing i was gonna say was that i'm sorry for posting this in the wrong section! I need to go read stuff now
buh-bye! ^.^

Peaceblade03: Phade why can't we remove videos from the org, IS there a way?Rozard wrote:I don't believe you canPrettyGirl wrote:Anways, i'm deleting that one off the Org since i don't like it and no one else does. You've already uploaded it to The Donut, and there is no option for removing a video once it's submitted.
XXXX: No, everyone's gotta remember their mistakes, it'll teach them to think before they put up a video, to think "is it good enough to put up?".

Actually, I think one of the reasons for not being able to delete videos is to prevent some types of Donut abuse. Like say if someone wanted to tranfer files through here and just kept uploading them and deleting them after the other people had gotten them. Sure people can still upload their junk here, but it's a bit harder to cover their tracks if they can't delete the files.
My favorite video: Grilled Steak Trigun I LOVE THE COPS! Rargh!

Not being able to delete videos on the Donut doesn't prevent abuse. People still find ways to upload multiple versions, they just create entries. In fact, maybe abuse would go down if we were allowed to delete and re-upload.paizuri wrote:Actually, I think one of the reasons for not being able to delete videos is to prevent some types of Donut abuse. Also, I do believe that the Donut monitoring system is out of whack. Example: this video, which is 172 mb. Isn't the max 100?

Eh, they'd still be chewing up the same amount of bandwidth then, if not more. And probably thinking less of it since there's no glaringly visible evidence of it on their profile pages. At least this way, the more conscientious people will try to finalize their videos before posting them locally.dokool wrote:Not being able to delete videos on the Donut doesn't prevent abuse. Beats me, I don't upload to the Donut.dokool wrote:Also, I do believe that the Donut monitoring system is out of whack. Example: this video, which is 172 mb. Isn't the max 100?

Well you have to start somewhere, I would not worry about this video, take the advice that you have gotten and make another video.PrettyGirl wrote:Like i said..not my best AMV..actuallyi think it's my worst..But anyways!
