Forum rules
Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

This should be in AMV Announcements.

Consequentially, a Hoobastank video won Best Action at AB2003, so you've got that either going for you or against you, but I imagine that since your file is 2.12 MB, you know nothing about compression and have zero chance. Sorry.

"My First AMV here" it shouldn't be here. As dokool said, it should be here.

Sad but true. I imagine over 90% percent of .WMV files are total carbage...

I sound so negative today. Sorry but this happens just too often nowadays.

You don't have to imagine, you can just look.

I've decided that if the 'Org isn't going to be upgraded to reduce the amount of crap on the servers, that we should just crush the spirits of those who *do* put crap on the servers so that they stop.

Yay cynicism!

I dunno if thats the best idea, many many people start out with horrible vids that may be classified as "crap" and then go onto get better and better. If we only discourage them, then we're detering potential good creators.
The best effects are the ones you don't notice.

I definately think there's an "event horizon" at which a creator's skills cannot be pushed beyond the boundaries of mediocrity. Uploading 2.14mb files to the Donut is beyond that point.

Many of my early vids were around that filesize. I'm glad no one gave me this kind of treatment when I started out. :|
