Well it's pretty hard to influence anybody when you're doing stuff that most people simply can't. I mean ripping off Euphoria by slapping bitmaps into the Video 2 track is one thing, but to do some of the stuff in my latest AMVs...yeah, that's just not likely to occur.

Many people I know here have checked out your vids and seen nothing impressive in them.

And in some ways, I kinda like that. Like in Twist Of, it's pretty much one of the only AMVs that actually matches the animation synch to the music beats but it does it so seamlessly that your average AMV editor doesn't even have enough sense to see it. There are quite a few people who just look at my AMVs and think, "Yeah that's okay." Until I actually start pointing stuff out to them and show them what the source footage looked like. I mean, have you SEEN the "making of" video I did for "Forever"? Do you think YOU can do effects like that? Cause uh, boy I'd sure be impressed if you could.

It's funny that you can totally word-fuck Hail to the Thief but you can't produce something to compete with it.

Producing something to compete with it would be a serious insult to my editing skills. I would never think to lower myself to such a level. Oh but hey, maybe for fun at some point I'll take "Twist Of" and throw a bunch of solid white and black bitmaps into the Video 2 track and have a good laugh at you amateurs and your uber l33t editing skillz, yo. *snicker*

Now I'm sure that's because you're the only person on this site whose opinion matters and we are all too inferior to see the real genius in your videos, right sweetie?

To be perfectly blunt with you, my opinion *IS* the only opinion that matters. I know my art far better than any of you ever could even dream of. I know just how much effort it took, I know just how well it was put together, I even know every single lil flaw in it, no matter how small. My opinion *IS* the only opinion that matters. Whether some lame artist who can appreciate advanced style and design can see it or not really doesn't matter much on the whole. If someone who was actually REALLY GOOD at making AMVs gave me some ideas and suggestions I'd certainly consider them, but a whole load of "Yer stuff...um...sucks...cause it just does..." Yeah, that's really not impressing me.

You need a reality check.

Here's a lil reality check for ya, if my work really was all the "crap" you and various others are trying to make it out to be...well then why are you getting so upset over my lil opinions on Beowulf's AMV? I mean I don't particularly give a shit about your witless opinions of my AMVs...and funny enough, it's not cause I'm an asshole, it's cause as far as editing, you don't have my respect, I don't consider any one of you to be even close to "worthy" as far as my editing level. But that REALLY bothers you, doesn't it? When someone, who wether you want to admit it or not, is better than you goes around acting arrogant and takes various blind stabs at your "best" efforts, oh yeah, that just burns you up, huh?

Bottom line is that if I was just something nothing AMV editor, you wouldn't give one fuck of an iota about my opinions, but given the number of responses just within the past 20 minutes...yeah, I'd say your true opinion of me just SHINES through. `, )

Seeing as how the animation matches the beat of the music precisely...hrmmm...yeah I think I've got pretty good pacing. You in effect did the same thing as me...it's just you did it by flashing solid black and white images to the beats, where as I matched animation sequences. You see one takes effort, the other does not.

Um, in "Forever" I CREATED my own scenes. None of the footage in "Forever" was ever actually in the series in the first place, I created it all from scratch using mostly static frames. And in "Twist Of"...um...what other scenes were there to describe the epic battle between Jim and Hanmiyo where he unknowing kills his fated love? I dunno, maybe if you had made it you would have thrown in some random footage of Melfina's boobs, or how about when Aisha turns into a big cat?! Yeah, I mean it's not like it has fuck all to do with the theme of the AMV, but hey, it'd look "cool"! Heh, of course it's not like your AMV that I download had a theme, just random incoherent flashing stupidity of every already ass raped clip that's ever been done before in an NGE video. You know I've seen NGE, there *IS* some really great footage which hasn't ever been used before...guess maybe you just didn't look hard enough.

Again I bring up the fact that both of my AMVs that you've supposedly seen have THEMES, the one I saw of yours, didn't. You can't "flow" anything without some kind of a basic theme.

No, that's usually what you wind up having to do when you pick a theme, stick with it, and then match the animation to the beat of a REALLY fast song. Like I mentioned before, I suppose I could have just thrown in a bunch of random stupidty that had nothing to do at all with the point of the AMV, oh yeah, but then I'd have to lower myself to your level.

Heh, yeah you do the same. While you'll still be churning out the same 'ol crap striving to do things like I've been able to acomplish now, I'll look back and I WILL laugh at my stuff. Why? Because I constantly strive to better my own work. NEVER do I use people like you as a basis of comparison when I'm making AMVs. I work to achieve results even beyond what I'm currently capable of. That's what YOU WANT to see, that's actually not what I said at all. Know how I can tell? Because if I wasn't any good...you'd actually be able to produce one single coherent argument which shows beyond the shadow of any doubt that my AMVs aren't 8 shades of perfection.

Really, try it, give me ONE single example of something nonsubjective that's wrong with my AMVs. Oh wait, here's an even better one, name ONE single AMV that's been able to achieve similar effects to the ones done in mine. I mean if I'm such a mediocre AMV creator, the types of effects and editing I've done should be apparent throughout countless LinkinballZ videos. `, )

Onideus_Mad_Hatter, I know someone like you. An elitist for movies. He doesn't like blockbusters because everyone else love them. Not because these movie suck, only because they are successful.
This is what I think you do with AMVs.

IMO this is stupid, but there are lots of people like you...usually they don't show publicly that they suck, though...

Something that would help me to know what you call "good" amvs would be if you gave other examples than your own creations...because I haven't seen yours.
So, what is your style ? Is there an AMV in the top10% that you like ? or a famous amv ?

You're probably the best amv editor in the world, but is it a good thing if nobody want to watch them only because you get on everyone's nerves ? If other creators' opinions are useless to you, why did you join this website ? Why do you share your videos ?

And for the effects, there are some videos that need effects in order to work...because even with the most talented creator (you for example), people who watch the video DON'T SEE that everything flows well, and become bored before the end of the video.
