I don't remember Ian telling me not to tell anyone. I didn't even know what it was for until AWA when I asked him. He just said "Someone asked him to do it."dwchang wrote:Rozard told you eh?Corran Productions wrote:Sweet, Rozard was telling me about this. Well considering those who knew weren't supposed to say anything...

Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
- Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
- Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
- When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
- Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

No colour inversions allowed. No photoshopping, lip flap removal, masking or anything like that.rubyeye wrote:*raise hand* Question about limitations.
Exactly how resticted are you with your creativity? If you can't do any kind of "manipulations", does that include color inversions/black and white or any kind of flashy "effects" similar to what you see in movie trailers? I really don't know what kind of limitations are put on anime licenses so I'm rather curious as to what you are bound to work with.
It really was justr "all cuts and fades" however I think all of us stretched that interpretation a little. So for example I did a fade to white instead of to black and the others used black flashes. It was just an extension of fading and cutting to allow for a greater amount of techniques. I also faded slowly to make overlays under the interpretaton that a partial opacity is just part of a fade.
As for the commercialisation of amvs, that's honestly not a concern It was just a bonus extra on the DVD - I didn't sign a contract saying I couldn't still make amvs like I always do... I just signed one saying the video I'd make would belong to ADV. It's just like commisioned art - it doesn't stop anyone from being individually creative when they want to be.

Kinda ironic really. While it is a form of recognition, there are many draw backs. For starters you need to fondle the disk untill you find the right easter egg just to view it. And if you ever put it on the donut you'll get your head beat in by ADV.
Though honestly, I think you could beat them back pretty good. Kicking in the crotch isn't unfair, it's efficent.
What's also funny, is that he did this for a beloved anime. Like, say, if ADV approched ErMaC and asked him to do a video using, and for the Live Action Evangelion, we'd put his head on a stick and march threw the forums. ^.^

Well considering those who knew weren't supposed to say anything...Anyhow, the only reason I told Corran Production was that he's a big Noir fan like myself. I think I lost my beta of the video, too, which makes me sad
No harm done anyway...
