Most recent depressing vid I've been watching is Burntoast's Haunted. Its the only Jin Roh vid I've ever seen to capture the sadness of the ending so well.
The best effects are the ones you don't notice.

I considered this one depressing:

It's just the song (Creep) and the anime (EoE) combo that's depressing to begin with.. but it's mild compared to some non-anime music vid's i've watched...dwchang wrote:First off, whoa! Anyway, I've seen most of the videos listed here and they certainly are emotional, but this video is easily the most depressing video I have ever seen on the .org:
Lullabye by Tunak
And before you bash the use of subtitles, really think about it b/c the line "And save these questions for another day" is f'ing brilliant.
I also know some will say it's a cop-out since it's "Grave of the Fireflies" and that is inherently depressing, but depressing is still depressing. I think it's the only video on here that has gotten me close to teary-eyed.
Enjoy!

Jingoro said they played a block of depressing videos at AWA at around 4 a.m. Sunday morning including this one of mine:

I don't know what the other ones were, though. I'd like to think of this video as more 'melancholy' than depressing but I could be wrong.
There seem to be some parallels between this old Miyazaki series and NTHT.
Speaking of NTHT I also recommend this one:

Nah I didn't mean for it to be overly depressing and I'm a bit surprised it did anything since it was one of my earlier worksrogue_noir wrote:It's just the song (Creep) and the anime (EoE) combo that's depressing to begin with.. but it's mild compared to some non-anime music vid's i've watched...dwchang wrote:First off, whoa! Pink Floyd's "Comfortably Numb" to End of Evangelion. The thought alone is depressing.
