This is the ORG, not the great library of alexandria. It's a technicaly sound website, with moderate graphics design and the worst attempt at comunity managment I have ever seen excluding IRC servers.

Gaining total control over the creations once they have been uploaded because you want a copy of every AMV in existance is a far aggressive.

I prever to liken the ORG to a museum, where works are hung and put on display for the public to see, but the artist still has right to pull down their works, leave the public behind, and die alone to be an unknown for fifty years untill he has his own episode of Biography.

The ORG is just a frame work, we the end users supply the content, without us this would be an empty site that would hardly be noteable.

And yet you keeping coming back...

The artist needs to paint, and most of all, he wants people to see his work.

the org can be liked to a museum but if you do that you would have to say that it was the only museum in the world, we have no where else to go (to my knowledge) to "Hang our portraits" as it were.

Well, there is a lack of an alternative.

I've wittnessed the same managment behavious in other websites, typically the user base will begin a migration from the poorly or totalitarianly managed site to an alternative.

However, in this case, Phade owns Mediterian Avenue, The Boardwalk, and all that lies between.

God forbid we correct our spelling.

The edit button is another proof that the comunity managment of this site lacks any tact. While the conept is sound; There is no edit button because this board is so wild and cruel, they can not risk having offenders removing offenses before they can they can be diciplined.

This comunity is very cynicial, elitist, and cruel. The problem is, the method being used to maintain any control only fuels the problem at the same time. Catch-22.

While I know of other methods, which lead to far more civil behaviour, I have never seen them attempted on a comunity of this scale. So I am far from certian that the method s would be effective.

That is hardly a realistic option, it's like saying stop being a Jew so the S.S. dosn't get you.

We all know that viable webspace to host videos is hard to come by, the Donut is the really the best option. Like I said, Mediterian Avenue to Boardwalk.

There's plenty of "free" webspace to go around.
It's just that people are too lazy to figure out how to get around the TOS or learn how to upload their videos the right way.

I used Tripod ever since I got here, and I still use it for game vids(unless a certain friend wants to help out).

God forbid you take a little effort to find some other place to host your videos.

Well, actually, I've been running a webserver out of my own place, and most of my videos are hosted off of that. However I'm moving this sunday in with two roomates, my bandwidth whoreage will sadly have to stop come tomorrow morning.

It still dosn't remove the truth, prior to the donut, there were always people who couldn't find hosting, and no shortage of them either.
