check the top videos on the star scale.
Computer games don't affect kids. I mean, if Pac Man affected us as kids, we'd all run around in a darkened room, munching pills, and listening to repetitive music~Kristian Wilson, CEO, Nintendo Gaming Corporation

For what anime? The stars are good, like ZeWrestler said, and there's also the 'Top 10' videos list if you don't have a specific anime in mind.

speaking of the top 10% list approach, you could also (when you find a video there you like) look into the profile of the creators and most likely find... what's this?... ANOTHER GREAT VIDEO!!
btw, not sarcasm, most great amv's are not flukes, so check out profiles of video creators that you like their videos.
If you're reading this, you've gone too far...PREPARE FOR RETRIBUTION!!
Don't judge an AMV by it's anime.. u nooB ;D

Heh, actually it started out as a possible site skin for Phade's site, then at one point I thought about making a knock off site, and now it just sits. I've been too busy working on my AMVs to really work on it.

...really? The only DBZ vid that I ever recall liking was Tiny Tyke Smackdown. All the rest were like, "Oh look, KaZaA downloaded RealMedia footage...and a Linkin Park song...hrmmm".
As this Fan form grows in popularity, there will be more and more people making vids for the first time, and not all of them will have talent or the patience to create quality work.
Well personally, I think if that's the case they just shouldn't bother.
Just like fanfictions there are a tone of people that make bad ones and there are a few that make good ones.
So basically you think we should all support bad work? o_O

Quite frankly I'd just assume verbally rip those people to shreds. Afterwards they'll either get it together and realize that if something is worth doing, it's worth doing a good job on...or they'll just realize they're a talentless screwjob and they'll find some other senseless fad to cling on to.

I'm not even talking about subjective matter, but pure editing skills. I've seen some people who are so lazy all they do is chop about 3 minutes of footage out of an episode and stick it with a song, no real editing to speak of.

You need to get out more. Just check some of the threads that list the 'good' dbz vids. They're here, you just have to look past the newbie vids to find them. And don't think all beginning editors use downloaded footage - I started with dvd rips. I had encoding issues, but the source was not to blame. I've never used Kazaa in my life.

My point? Not all newbies should be thrown in the same pile, and not all dbz vid makers use downloaded footage, thank you ever so much. :?

Our "mission" is to help these people making better videos. If you burn a newb with ugly comments about his first videos, he'll never improve. Of course there are people who do great video at the first time, but they are rare...

And I haven't seen your first vidoe, but it seems according to its marks that it does not meet other people's expectation, at least in terms of video quality...
So would you like to be flamed for that ? I think not.

Most creators learn about the org once they'v done one or two videos and had friends who told them "wow, it's terrific"...then they come, and start to learn what "terrifc" videos really are, and then they improve...
Those who don't improve after dozens of videos deserve bad reviews. But not the newbies.

Don't use definitive based language, it shows a lack of intelligence.

Not as rare as you might think. Although if most of what you download is DBZ videos, then yeah, I guess I can see why you might think that.

Overall capture quality is a 7, seems peeps like it just fine...interesting too since I used footage I captured off of cable. My latest video got 2 8's and a 10, using A-G encodes.
So would you like to be flamed for that ? I think not.
You can try if you like. I actually like harsh criticism. But uh, the thing to remember, when you give it, I sometimes like to hit back. ^_^

They do? I've found that there are generally two types of creators, those who strive to improve and those that simply don't. And most people fall into the category of "simply don't".
Those who don't improve after dozens of videos deserve bad reviews. But not the newbies.
I was actually refering more to the people who release like 5 videos at a time, every two weeks or so, churnin out slop like nobodys business. If it's a creators first video, I usually just don't download it unless it's got at least one or two opinions. That's just me though, to each his own I say.
