Newbie Questions. How do I see Opinions??

Post by |Charles_Xavier| » Thu Oct 16, 2003 9:26 am

1) For two of my videos, I have one opinion each, but I can't see what is marked. It just shows the name of the person who submited it, but not the actual opinion or comments. This is my biggest question. How can I see all the information? Please help

1) Can cartoons which are not considered anime like Poke-mon or X-Men evolution (saturday morning type stuff) be uploaded to the server. Some people got really upset that I uploaded my X-Men Music Videos. I don't see anything writen agaist american style cartoons, but some people think that it's implied in the "non non-anime" restriction, while others don't think so. I would like to get an answer about that so the issue can be settled, preferably from a Mod or an administrator like Phade. I wrote phade at his Hotmail address, but he probably just uses that one for junk mail like I do, so I don't know if he ever saw it. I don't want to IM him because I figure if 30,000+ people IMed him everytime they had a question he would get very annoyed. So if you can help I would really appreciate it.

I for got to mention. About the opinions. It only shows the name of the person after I click on more opinion information. But it still doesn't show the actual opinion :(

To see your opinions, go to 'Edit My Videos' and where the video is listed you'll see a green number (1) for the 'ops' - click that number and it will let you read and respond to the opinion. You also get a notice on the member main page (at the bottom) any time you get a new opinion. Just click the title of the vid (in the list) and it will also take you to the opinion.

Pokemon, while being more a 'children's show' in the US, *is* an anime. It's Japanese animation. X-men is an American cartoon. That's the difference. You can't upload American cartoons (or movies, or live action 'real' movie footage).

Awesome! Thank you so much

Also, can you tell me what the stars mean? I tried to click on the number, but they are unclickable. I have stars, and star average. I don't know what that means. And I've never seen where I can give starts either. Do you know what that is all about?

*ahem* :?
These are the videos you've downloaded. Click header to resort. Clicking the set star rating will reset the rating so that you can edit it. 5 = Good; 1 = Bad.
Right at the top.

And just in case -

The stars score you have next to a video is the average of the different scores people have given you. These scores rank your video for the 'Star scale' - the link on the right side of the member main page. If you go there you can see the top videos, ranked according to the star average they've gotten. You can't tell who gave you what score, or respond to them, so all you see is the green number. And keep in mind that not everyone who downloads your video will leave you a star score immediately - you can have 10 videos before you'll be required to give start scores (a notice will pop up and you'll have to go to 'my downloads' and hand out scores for he videos you've downloaded). So your star score will get more votes as time goes on and people are forced to respond.

Just look at it as a mandatory opinion - that way you get at least *some* feedback for a vid, even if the person doesn't have time/care to leave an actual review.

[Also just in case - when you give people reviews, you can read them in the 'all opinion' link on the main page, if the person has responded to your review, the color changes. ^_~ ]
