Do you remember the 6+ page long flame on Fyrt a while back? The one where at least 12 posts were made in the mods box because I found it disgusting and wanted it deleted? Do you remember who was wanting the thread to be left alone because to delete it would be to show favoritism? A lot of hate goes around here.

If we just enforced the 'no personal attacks' rule, it wouldn't be a problem.

[And sorry Jace, but that huge mess is the biggest flame war I've seen that involved the mods, so this reminds me of it.]

The mods don't seem to have the power people think they do. I was here a couple times when it was a war keeping posts moderated while the offending parties just made more. I believe there is a pretty good reason why only one person, the admin of the site and forum, can be the only one responsible for banning.

Not only does he (and likely some mods) live on the east coast (the forum gets busy at night, and night falls earlier over here) but people have real jobs and have to sleep. As annoying as anything on this site can be at times, in the scheme of things it amounts to even less than dust...even if that dust is sometimes hurt feelings.

It's really not that important the thngs stupid people may say no matter who they think they are. (By the way, that is not referring to anyone in particular) So it's not that important if someone is a jerk versus if someone eats up bandwidth that has to be paid for with the donations meant to deliver amvs to those who want them. Yes, they may offend, but insults by moronic children shouldn't mean that much to people. Although the punishment should still remain for those who won't abide by the rules set up site owner. We are guests in his house.

On a seemingly unrealted note, I remember the vote Phade had about the mod box when we moved to a php forum. I recall voting for read but no respond to votes...I think after watching people abuse that box for weeks, I think it would benefit members more (a.k.a. help reduce childish behavior) if the mod box was not accesible by the general users. It would also curtail a lot of the bickering brought into the WTO and IAAM forums by people complaining about complaints...

Misty, that MJ/Tutter thread may have pushed us over the edge with MinnieMoose, but I wouldn't be so frustrated if this hadn't been going on for a long time, as in days.

I'm sure all the mods and all the admins have had a chance to observe MinnieMooses behavior, and no action has been taken.

All mods do is lock threads, walk away, and ignore the problem.
