An OVA (original video animation) is generally a higher quality animation that is released straight to video or TV rather than as a movie. Like a telemovie or a "straight to video" release. They are generally short since they cost more. Some have 2 or 3 or 5 etc... episodes. An OVA like anything anime can be licesenced, edited and dubbed it depends if someone thinks it will sell.nemesis310 wrote:so basically on OAV/OVA is just like the subtitled, unetited, original japanese version?

An oav is a creation created for dvd or vhs release and was not intended to be released on tv (when they are created in japan). For example if you look on certain sites you will find, Record of Lodoss War (tv) and Record of Lodoss War (OAV). Obviously the (tv) version was made to premier on tv where as OAVs were released on DVD and not on tv (although they do infact get shown sometimes in japan). Some of the time OAVs will be remakes or different versions of a tv series but most of the time they are created to add a short storyline to the original tv series.
As far as the love hina second season thing goes, that would be a baaaaaaaad idea. There is nothing to add to the storyline that wouldn't compicate it and make it a boring filler. And the Naru being the promised girl thing, it really depends on which you look at - the anime or the manga. They have completely different ways of looking at the whole ordeal. In the anime they decided to leave the the girl anonymous but they also try to hint that Naru is in fact not the girl. In the manga on the other hand, I believe someone actually says that she is (an adult who saw it, at the moment I cant remember who, it might have been Hina Im not sure). I prefer the manga over the anime myself. Its funnier and has a good ending. It gets me mad sometimes to look at the changes, for example they didn't even put in the fact that Seto and Haruka got married in the anime even though it happens in the manga.
