Is it this time of the month again already?

I'd agree with D-W. While the reviews may be a convenient quick way for people to figure out what is 'good', they are intended as a feedback tool for the editors to get an idea of what people think of their videos, and what they're doing right or wrong from one person's point of view. A review of all 1s with no real constructive commenting should ideally just be ignored. Yes, it hurts your average- but let's face it, any scale is going to be subjective and open for abuse. All told I'm far more likely to pay attention to any review with good, well thought out comments with a reasoning behind the scores than one with all 1s that say "good- nothing. bad- everything." or all 10s and say "OMG!!1!11 Bestest Vid EVAR!!!!!11".

Of course, there's always the occasional utterly hillarious review (like the one I got for Nene's Game a few days ago) that in spite of being almost all 1's is just so funny at how badly the reviewer missed the point and was pissed off for having watched it that is almost better than a serious review just for how entertaining it is.

Not exactly. Actually the system takes all the scores and drops the top 10% and the bottom 10%. So if you have 10 reviews, it drops 2, the highest and lowest. When I say scores I dont' mean an entire review. My understanding is it drop the lowest SCORE i.e. Sound, Capture, etc. So it's possible multiple reviewers will be affected but their entire scores not dropped.

So in terms of a video with 12 reviews, the lowest one (all 1's) should be dropped and not calculated with the scores. That's at least my understanding of the system.

Phade's a smart guy and I'm sure he built in something like that to calculate all this. Do the math. Add up all your scores and do the average and you'll notice it's *NOT* the score in the top 10%.

Aren't vid reviews that are all 1's not counted in the overall count anyways?

I think reviews should be done on a logrithmic scale, they would be much more fair that way :O

Oh my goodness, it's true! 9 opinions become 7 for Top 10% purposes!

If i'm not mistaken, wont the karma system fix all of this mess? The better someone is rated, the more weight their opinions will carry?
