Did you get cut off while you were downloading them? If you got disconnected half-way through, then you won't have the full vid. You might also check the vid description to see what the length of the vid is (if it's mpg it lists that in the info section) - they may not have uploaded the entire vid - contact the person who made it and let them know.
But chances are you just got cut off halfway through - nothing to do there but start over (unless you can get one of the 'resume' downloading programs to work - I still can't get any to do it for me).

When you get cut off, does the download just abort, or does your connection die? If the former is happening, we can try and fix that.Bebop0083 wrote:thats happend to me before as well. usually i get them to work on the second time but some times i dont. i guess i need a faster internet connection.

It's probably something wrong with the upload. A lot of people don't verify their uploads and the only half of the video is shown.
If that's the case, you can't bet that it probably wasn't a good video anyway since the creator didn't have enough "time" to check it. =\
But then again, we are only human... There could be some good vids that're accidentally cut in half...

i was also thinking that myself. which is the most logical reason. but usualy i only git a partail dl. it says the dl is complete but its not.SQ wrote:It's probably something wrong with the upload. A lot of people don't verify their uploads and the only half of the video is shown.

i got a dsl modem but before i had a 56k and whenever i DLed and it wasnt complete,i did it again and some of it actually showed up.but now,it doesnt download full.i think in 56k,it's just a timeout thing and sometimes the person just had problems uploadingBebop0083 wrote:i was also thinking that myself. which is the most logical reason. but usualy i only git a partail dl. it says the dl is complete but its not.SQ wrote:It's probably something wrong with the upload. When I lose a download, it says the connection to the server was lost - my internet connection is fine. But I haven't tried Opera yet (the others wouldn't work), so I may be able to resume - in which case it won't be a problem. What's odd is that I don't get cut off during peak hours - unless the server is hit hard between 3am and 7am - that's usually when the download quits. And I don't get partial downloads (unless they're hidden in some temp file under a different name). It's every other vid for me, so I don't think much about it. I've never had the same vid fail more than twice in a row.derobert wrote:When you get cut off, does the download just abort, or does your connection die? I've increased the timeout on the server --- let's see if that helps.Arigatomyna wrote:When I lose a download, it says the connection to the server was lost - my internet connection is fine.
Hmmm, the server does do a lot of stuff around 0600ET. You didn't mention what time zone you're in, though...What's odd is that I don't get cut off during peak hours - unless the server is hit hard between 3am and 7am - that's usually when the download quits.
That's IE for you. "Download failed 95% through? Delete!"And I don't get partial downloads (unless they're hidden in some temp file under a different name).
