My point was that there's no call to brag about something you have if it's provided for you. For those who pay for it, I'll sit back and be a loser in comparison to their coolness. But I'd rather not be called a pathetic sap just because a 14 year old's mom and dad buy him something better than I purchase for myself. If modem versus cable determines 'coolness' it can only include people from the same background (those who pay or those who get) - throwing them all together doesn't work (apples oranges...isn't that the usual reference for this?).

It's a bad comparison, that's all. ^_~

thats like saying some cheese dick wife beater's cool because he drives a cool car. his car dose nothing to do with him being cool or a decent person. Just like the fact that my parents pay for a cable modem dose little to change the fact that i have no life and spend too much time that i should't have here.

Fast connection =/= cool person.
dial up =/= uncool user.

on the contrary broad band useres can be dicks ... spamming forums with mulitlpe posts and 1000's of little pictrues ...

but you know this already ... so i'm just talking to the wind, as usual.
