i have seen escaflowne the seires and loved it. i have seen several of the yu yu eps on cn. and i have seen an ep or two of chobits and it looked interesting
few others i just thought of that i have seen are vandread, grove adventure rave, pilot candidate, and the ova of chrono trigger (which i say is a must see for fans of the game)
also saw tenchi on cn and didn't like it but saw the first movie and thought it was decent.

Once you get to the first tournament in YYH, you need to switch to japanese however you can. They'll massacre it on CN, but once you see that you'll never go back. As for Tenchi, try getting the second movie - it's screwed up, but pretty cool.Dark Kiba wrote:i have seen escaflowne the seires and loved it. i have seen several of the yu yu eps on cn. and i have seen an ep or two of chobits and it looked interesting

if you don't mind going old school, collect Miyazaki's stuff. he's the guy who created Spirited Away(a better known title of his stuff)
Other titles he made are:
Laputa: Castle In the Sky
Kiki's Delivery Service
Grave of the Fireflies
Princess Mononoke
My Neighbor Totoro
Porco Rosso
Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind
Could have sworn there was more. But out of the list above, the only ones I didn't see are Kiki's Delivery Service and Porco Rosso. So far, not a single one has disappointed me at all. The serious ones are Princess Mononoke, Grave of the Fireflies and Nausicaa. Laputa is arguable, but its like somewhere in btwn of light and happy go lucky and dark, serious. (it's my fav of the miyazaki works)
All of them have some kind of theme or message to it. Plz do not go under the prejudice that Miyazaki just loves kids, nature and writes only abt Japan like all my other friends. The art style is unlike mainstream anime techniques but I don't think thats a turn off factor. Definitely worth collecing and checking out. It's so cool, simple storylines, yet so enjoyable.

I am not going to buy anything for a couple of weeks though (at least I am going to try not to) because I am going to C-Kon the first weekend in october and hope to find cheaper prices (it will be an interesting weekend cause it is also the weekend of my 21st)
