Short and Simple, and if you believe that I haven't justified myself via HK DVDs, answer me this one question, with an intellgent response.

Animeniacs.com, Animekrazy.com , both been selling "illegal" DVDs for years. Why haven't they been arrested or at least repremanded?

I mean seriously, you can't tell me that at least one person who "disagrees" with the selling of HK DVDs, hasn't attempted to report these companies, and obviously failed? Seriously, use a bit of logic here.

INTERNATIONAL COPYRIGHT PROTECTION
There is no such thing as an "international copyright" that will automatically protect an author's writings throughout the entire world. Protection against unauthorized use in a particular country depends, basically, on the national laws of that country. However, most countries do offer protection to foreign works under certain conditions, and these conditions have been greatly simplified by international copyright treaties and conventions. For further information and a list of countries that maintain copyright relations with the United States, request Circular 38a, "International Copyright Relations of the United States."

Because they haven't had this happen yet. Because it's a grey area. because if they got shut down, they would just open up under a new name in 3 months. I've watched all these things happen to places like Animeniacs over the last couple of years. The reason I haven't used HK's in an AMV, even though I own several HK's? Crap video quality. In the 8 years I've been watching anime, I've only seen maybe 2-3 HK's that dont look like crap.

ANTDrakko wrote:"I wanna make videos but I don't have the money so I'm forced to buy bootlegs" . Where the heck did that come from? I said I didn't have enough money to buy a DVD rom, jeez.
Whatever. You were whining about something or other; it's all the same to me, whine whine whine I donwanna wait I wanna do whatever I want nownownownownowwww! Stupid brats. It doesn't matter, you'll just make up more and more excuses. Kthulhu just pounded it into your head that HELLO, MORON, HK BOOTLEGS ARE REALLY REALLY ILLEGAL, and you just aren't listening.
And like I said, we could go on and on about HK DVDs, but thats a completley different subject. The fact is, nobody, or at least enough people for anyone to notice, is ever arrested or fined or whatever for selling or owning HK DVDs, its more of a "Who wants to support the licenced company the most" debate, fully opinion.

Its funny how quickly someone is to reply to a subject without fully reading or understanding each point. ::shrug:: oh well.
HK BOOTLEGS ARE REALLY, REALLY ILLEGAL. YOU ARE WRONG. DEAL.

And please, please, for the love of God shut up. You are not justified, so stop trying to make yourself look like you are.

uh? what are we talking about again?

Am I the Sheriff of Hong Kong? Long gone to the Hong Kong Kong?

I couldn't care less. It's not my problem. Do what you feel like doing. If you want to make an AMV, make an AMV. Inevitably, there may be repercussions, but as my obserations go - you won't be deleted off the server or have an excessive flame war going on if your vid's image quality is sub-par and your source is questionable.

If this is something you're prepared to deal with, along with a few 'Bah!''s in reviews, and still want to do it - do it. If this isn't a risk you're willing to take, don't take it.

Honestly. I don't care. Let me watch my AMV's. Let people do what they want. You're not the law. And leave the poor guy alone. If you don't like it, well, shoganai. That doesn't change the world.

It's not that I'm telling you guys to encourage anything you consider questionable, but don't take the role of AMV ethics police upon yourself.
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…
