If someone doesn't want to be stuck reviewing "Bad" vids they shouldn't be posting here in the first place. If someone has reviewed your vid then it is VERY rude to not review theirs in return, I don't care what your reasons are (Unless your comp died or something else happened that was beyond your control). People don't like doing a review and not getting one in return.

If you have trouble playing those types of files your should say so in your review exchange post.

And if there are any other reasons someone cannot complete a review exchange then they should at least tell the person.

For the first time in my life, I actually agree with Nemo. You could also say that if you ONLY want good ops, perhaps you shouldn't be offering up your vids on the exchange to begin with. :?

For my own part, if I'm in the mood to exchange, I don't even speak up unless I feel like I'll be giving a mostly-good op, because I'm tired of people getting hostile if I don't tell them their vid is the best thing since sliced bread.

Yes, it is bad to not hold up your end of the exchange, but people also don't want to be screamed at for being honest about their opinions. :?

If you don't want to have to give bad reviews then maybe you could check out other people's review posts instead of putting one up yourself. That way you can download the vid and, if you don't like it, you don't have to reviuew it, and nobody's feathers get ruffled. *Smiles and hopes she's being diplomatic*

I realize you're worried about stepping on other people's toes, but if someone doesn't want people's honest opinions on their vids then they shouldn't be posting on here either. That makes about as much sense as a woman (And I'm a woman so you can't call me sexist) asking a guy if she looks fat in an outfit and then getting pissed if he says it looks less than flattering. If she doesn't want an honest opinion, she shouldn't ask for one in the first place. If I ask my husband that (And usually I'm unsure if I like the outfit myself), and he doesn't like the outfit I simpley shrug my shoulders and change my clothes.

The whole point is that some people just don't realize that if you put their art in a public forum, occaisionaly, their feelings will be trodden on.

I hope I didn't hit any nerves, just tryin' ta make my point. :)

No, I agree; it's just that it doesn't always work out that way.

Just saying that this might explain a few cases of people not following through. They should have not agreed to do the op exchange, but it might be too late by the time they realize they're in a bad spot.

True. But I think that's, unfortunately, a risk we run by doing this sort of thing.

But then you have to realize....
Some people are hit with the real life syndrome... :?

Here's my opinion* on the matter...

There are a lot more things happening to people than they're letting on. They maybe kids who have a lot of homework... They maybe adults who had unexpected amounts of work to take home day in and day out... Then the email problems that people are facing with viruses lately... Maybe even an accident/death in the family/power outtage/earthquake/volcano erruption?

After realizing the possibilities of problems, you should understand that this is just a hobby that people do.. Some are professionals who do this on a daily basis. But after all is said and done, the exchange will happen sooner or later! There are no set dates on when the exchange will take place in any of the threads that are wanting exchanges... No one expects a deadline on when the opinion will be done but it will be done eventually!

So think about it when life hits you... You have no way of contacting anyone here... and it becomes more important than giving an opinion on a video? Expect the unexpected! Don't rely on the other person to get the opinion done if you yourself have a lot of free time.. The other person may not... This is a reason why I don't do exchanges... Only free exchanges! People expect you to get an opinion done on their video once you get an opinion on yours... and vice versa...

A blacklist like this isn't a good or bad thing... So, if this list becomes popular... Expect to see a slow down of opinion exchanges and a lot more free opinions!

A lot of us who do free opinions give indepth opinions... Unlike the ones who just leave scores and a few words saying they liked it or not... The main reason for these opinion exchanges was to help the creator! Point out what was a good thing and what was a bad thing... Even telling them what could be done with a certain area helps out a ton! I thank people like MexicanJunior, Wonka, Machine, OmniStrata, Sierra Lorna, ShonenDizzyCow, and Methical K just to name a few... These people give out great opinions(some are longer reads than others) but they do help out other creators with those opinions!

So, don't expect anything....

*I hope people understand that this is my opinion and nothing more...

Uh...not to get you guys of your subject. I was just posting to let you know that Hybrid had given the the ops I was waiting for so you don't have to blacklist him.
