New Music Video - X TV - Perchance to Dream

Post by SS5_Majin_Bebi » Mon Sep 01, 2003 1:43 am

Just uploaded my new video. I used the anime series X by Clamp, and the song "Outside" by Staind. Theres a more detailed synopsis on the Video Details page.

I must warn you (not sure why though :P ) that this video will be a major spoiler for anyone who hasn't seen the series. I don't care if you've seen the movie of X, the series is sufficently different. Who am I kidding, its completely different. Alot of hard work, blood, sweat and tears went into the making of this video. It involved clip-making from the 24 fansubbed episodes (DVD's of X aren't available in Australia yet  ) which looked like complete ARSE (DivX 3.11a will do that, kiddos) and then running them through a plethora of VirtualDub and AVS filters. The finished product looks good. Not great, definetly not DVD quality, but extremely watchable and surprisingly good quality considering the original quality and my skills as an editor, both of which are kind of lacking.

Anyway, I think the video is good, it fits its theme (Kamui/Fuma tribute) and has some damn good action and timing in it. So download it and tell me what you think.

Is anyone else having issues with this encode? I couldn't play it, and when I opened it in vdub it had a lot of problems with artifacting, blocknoise, and the keyframing seemed to be off.

Read it again - It has SOURCE that was DivX 3.11a and I RE-ENCODED it in XviD, DivX FourCC. And It shouldn't be having problems because it works fine on my PC at home...

And WTF is a smire?

Oh god thats fucking ugly!!!

Why the fuck does it look like that??? The minute I get home I'm re-encodeing that and I'm asking Phade to remove the current version of it from the server. That looks fucked... But why? Thats all I wanna know, if it looks fine on my PC, why's it look so bad on yours?

1 keyframe? WTF?? I know thats very very bad.

Look, I had no idea up til now of the problems with this video. Is there anything I can do to fix it, like re-encode it (the project) to huffYUV and then to MPEG or something? None of the source had those streaky bits and cubey things, so I'm assuming that they crept in somewhere between the first and final compress.
