  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.

First Annual Anime Fun TV AMV Awards

Post by AnimeFunTV » Thu Aug 28, 2003 10:19 pm

Hi, and let me introduce my selfHi, and let me introduce my self my name is Ernest Zamora, Jr and I live in San Antonio, TX. I own a public access TV show called Anime Fun TV, it comes on every Thursday, at midnight.

Basically what I show are nothing but AMV’s that I’ve come across over at Kazaa, and I air them, However, I do contact the creators of the AMV’s on those videos it came with contact information, however there are a few videos that I could not contact, one being that the video came with no contact information, and or, the contact info was old and weren’t available anymore.

Any who, all the videos that I show are strictly for non-profit, and are basically meant to get the word out on AMV’s. There is a great response from the city on the show, and it is becoming the biggest show on the Public Access channel.

I have barley discovered about this website and I’m doing some research on those Videos that didn’t come with credits in the videos and will be contacting them soon.

And now to the announcement, Anime Fun TV, will host its first Annual AMV Awards late this year, and will give awards for “Best In Show” (best AMV in a Episode) “Editors Choice Award” (Best AMV according to the Editor) and last but not least “Best AMV” (Best AMV in the entire 10 episode season)

If you would like more information about this Show and its Mission, you can go to our main site Http://www.animefuntv.fr.st

Much thanks
-Ernest Zamora, Jr

Dangit! I wish I still lived in San Antonio and could help you with this. "Asuka's Last Stand" better not win anything though. :curse:

There's no rating system for the Public Access over here, but to find out about the ratings or similar, you go by how many people responded to the show, when the show premiered back in June; nearly 10 people responded (In the Guestbook, and voting poll) that’s more than anyone has produced at the studio.

:? Hm....

While I love the idea you have going I feel rather iffy about how exactly this you are pulling this off, without actually having seen the show. Public access Television still requires some kind of underwriting to fund programs which it airs. You may not notice them, but there are still commercials - they are just placed before and after shows instead of between them. Not to mention the monthly fund raiser. Of course this is just what I see in the PBS station here in North Texas (Denton, Dallas, Ft.Worth area).

And I don't even think our local University Station would produce a program like that if I tried to propose one. But like mexicanjunior says, if I lived in San Antonio, I'd probably help you out.

Anyway, I'll look over your site and see what you've got.

Hmmm.. Interesting... Interesting selections of AMV shown... I think a big more research on this site might help in playing a bit more variety of videso though...

Cool idea, I like the concept and truely hope you're able to pull it off for a while. BTW, you can use any of my vids if you wish, the link to my profile's in my sig.
The best effects are the ones you don't notice.
