What anime would you show to your parents?

hmmm...

JUST MAYBE i MIGHT show them Inuyasha...

Definately not Blue Gender or anything as gory as that but there are some actions i would show them

like Trigun would definately go well with parents i think violent but not too gory ad a REALLY good story line.
Now that i think about it i would probably show them Big O, on account of its amazing style of art (look at the eyes...)

Yes, I find Big O to be very artistic, but not just through appearence. I find the general attitude of the series to be artistic, the audio, the dialog, the story, and the setting. I find all these things to be fairly artistic about Big O.

for my dad, action would do it. He'd probably like Parts of eva, all of hellsing and trigun and any other series that follow that line. But i can picture him getting into Hellsing since he likes that shit.

For my mother ... Miyazaki would problaby do it ... then again, a serious romance may also work ... love hina and any similar comedy/fan service series would not be positivly recived.

sometimes my parents accuse me of watching things that they fnd unsuitable for kids my age(16)

so to prove that they dont have to worry im just gonna show em SD Gundam when it comes out

That should get rid of their thoughts due to the cutesy cal shaded graphics of all the gundams lol

i dont really wanna see it for some reason tho, just looks TOO kiddy

I'd have trouble getting my mom to sit down and watch much of anything with me these days. But she did sit through most of Earthian (it was recorded on tape since we didn't have a dvd player at home and I couldn't bring mine) - she had some trouble with reading the subs since it was a bit fuzzy.

That didn't work, so I tried to get her into Yu Yu Hakusho, but the series was far too long, and watching a few episodes here and there isn't much fun when you have to explain everything. I had the same problem with Gundam Wing, so that was a bust.

She *tried* to watch La Blue Girl, but I had to turn it off after the third sex scene - she was starting to look like she wanted to give me a mother/daughter talking to. ^_^; But she liked Vampire Hunter D and Twilight of the Dark Master, so I'll probably lend her the Escaflowne movie eventually. If I had X on dvd I'd make her watch it, but I just have the tape, and I'm trying to keep her away from dubbed anime - it took forever to convince her there was a difference between cartoons and anime - most dubbed voices would ruin that.

I wanted to show her Psychic Force, but it was stollen. I think she'd have liked that one. And she wants to see Yami no Matsuei, so we'll probably do that over Christmas (when she's snowed in ^_~ ). Mostly the anime she's interested in are the ones I've used in vids - it's easier to show her a 5min amv than an entire series. So far her favorite anime is Rurouni Kenshin, but she's only seen my vids for that since the series is far too long (and some of it I only have on tape). I blame Sanosuke for that since she took a liking to him. ^_^;;

Overall, I'd say my mom is easy when it comes to anime. She wants to see what I like, and when it comes to storylines, she tends to like the same genres as I do. Some of the action anime (like the Mecha) is boring for her, and I'd never show her more than a vid or two for DBZ, but she likes the drama mixed in most anime. Now that I've got Cardcaptor Sakura I plan to show her it, but it'll be a while before I can sit with her through it all (and I don't let her watch anime alone, so we both have to be there - call me paranoid, but she gets some strange ideas when she sees some anime actions - the first time the girls went chibi in Rayearth, I had to pause the dvd and explain for nearly 20 minutes before she'd accept that it was an 'anime' thing - and I had the same problem when it came to sweatdrops and characters falling over.)

Samurai X Reflections or Grave of the Fireflies. Most parents expect anime to be stupid and inappropriate. So catch them off gaurd and prove them wrong
