Ack I should have seen that payback coming... oh well

The Hulk dancing? *shudders* imagine if he had two left feet and trod on your toes all the time.

and remember it has to be dubbed Yugi-oh so you can lose any meaning the anime might contain and be swallowed by the americanisation of anime... oh and so your poor little innocent mind  won't be damaged by the sight of all that red ink.

I'm a yaoi fan. I do fanart, mostly fanfiction, and I'm trying to do shonen ai amvs (nothing explicit enough to be pure yaoi). If you like fanfiction, my favorite pairings are Kurama/Hiei, 1x2, 3x4, 6x5, Goku/Vegeta, Sano/Kenshin, Sephiroth/Vincent, Tsuzuki/Hisoka, Oishi/Eiji (PoT), Kagetsuya/Chihaya (Earthian), and lots more.

My fanart and fanfiction can be found here:
http://www.geocities.com/arigatomina
Just check the warnings and such when you get to the fiction. ^_~

I'm very picky when it comes to my pairings in fiction or other genres - characterization *is* important, but it really depends on how *I* see the characters. I've read some horribly out of character fics for Hiei and Kurama that would make me hate the pairing if I hadn't read some that match up perfectly with how I imagine the characters. So it really depends. When I started writing fanfiction, I was very much into 1x2 (note that my Gundam Wing fic page is huge compared to my newer interests) - but I changed my mind about how I viewed the characters, so I now look back at many of my fics as being horridly out-of-character. It's all dependent.

My favorite pairing right now is definitely Kurama/Hiei - and no, I don't mean with an effeminate Kurama. He may look like a 'girly guy' but I consider him quite masculine, especially when angry. And Hiei is my ideal uke, so I can't say he is put in the role of 'female' when it comes to my preferred pairings. His masculinity is what makes me like him so much. No matter what the circumstances, he'd never be a crying whiny effeminate character (like many Mary Sue's I've seen).

Still the problem with yaoi or shonen-ai anime in my mind is often you have one guy character (not necessarily macho but definetly male) and one girly guy character (efeminate). Now this seems like sterotyping to me in reality most same-sex pairings don't have a guy acting girly or a butch girl.
I agree; I hate that stereotype. But I think that's not a problem with yaoi; I think that's a problem with BAD yaoi. Just like het romances/pairings, you can have lame stereotypes (het stereotype = "eek, big strong hero help me! I broke a nail and a tentacle demon is after me aiieeeeeee!!") - but I try not to blame the whole genre for that. Every genre has its good and bad points. ;)

And uke != crying effeminate character, necessarily. Hopefully. Ideally. That's part of the stereotype.

I'm baaaaaaaaack!

Anything yaoi is fine with me! Hardcore, shounen-ai, ANYthing!
I don't have a favorite pair because I'd hate to have to pick just two.
I do some fanart, write fictions in my head but never type them, and more! Haters should leave this thread alone, by the way. (New sig idea... )
Glad there's some more yaoi lovers out there. I set up a thread asking for links to yaoi vids recently; the locals were real responsive. Hopefully it's still in the 'General amv' place.

I like some Yaoi. The very light yaoi I guess you would call it. The more subtle implied idea rather than the out right sex visuals that some animes go into.
I am a rather big fan of Bishounens too so that helps a bit I guess.
Ive never liked the overly masculine macho male idea that seems to dominate the little piece of world that I inhabit, so I think that may have drove me to it. I also have this thing against the idea that 2 guys can not care about each other without it being homosexual in nature. Ive always thought that a bit of a stupid idea. I have cared a great deal (more than I should have) about both members of the same and opposite sex and have always been made to feel that such emotions even though non-sexual in nature are ok for the opposite sex but not ok for the members of the same sex (especially if you are male).
And what is the big deal anyway, why does it matter, as long as you are not going around shoving it in peoples faces who you prefer to have sex with anyway. Its your own business and should not be a topic for discrimination or belittlement. People should be allowed to love who they love without recourse (speaking of consenting adults here of course).
Anyway, I will climb down off of my box now...... just my opinion.
"Light in the absence of eyes illuminates nothing. Visible forms are not inherent in the world but are granted by the act of seeing. Events contain no meaning in themselves only the meaning that the mind imposes on them...yet the world endures,...whether or not the mind exists..."
