Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

warning, this AMV will contain many spoilers and dying bunnies.

And if you're still bent out of shape about the fact that I didn't use RV9 I'm sorry. I PROMISE to use RV9 in my next AMV and I PROMISE it'll look great.

Fucjk dude! 100 MB?!

How long is it? And since I won't be able to download it for a while, what's the encoding on it and the audio.

Don't worry, I will DL it, I have a big list of links saved for vids to DL when I get back onto my campus network (and off 56k).

Divx3 with MP3 audio. 3:40 seconds. It was a real bitch to encode. CBR 3000 bitrates still look like crap. I't isn't until you get to the variable bitrates in the 3k range before the video looks decent.

Is this anime all cg or something? I haven't seen 3 minutes of footage take up 100mb before without good reason :/

And if you're gonna compress using DivX3, don't use CBR, you should try to use VBR (aka nandub).

I did, I used an AVS filter with a little bit of smoothing and a sharp bicubic resize ( neutral and soft didn't affect the filesize at all and made it look significantly worse.) so I used a VBR encode in Nandub. And this movie would have been easier to compress if it were CGI but it's a bitch to compress the same way X the movie was. High quality animatin coupled with bad source = bitch to compress.

I have to say, it's not worth getting it on 56k...

:p

But still, it's pretty damn good. [your compression technique sux0rs... and I don't care what excuses you have :p 30 megs a minute is NOT worth it...]

Well...what's the resolution? I mean, if it's 720 x 480 then that's probably a pretty reasonable file size.
