new action video with a twist

Source for this video was captured en bloc into 8Mbps MPEG2 from commercial VHS on the tape's first playing. This show will be released by CPM on DVD, but not for another couple months.

What I'm most interested in terms of reaction is opinions on how well the video is plotted. The editing is pretty average, and the effects aren't much to write home about; reactions to the overall video design, though will be helpful.

With the 'storyline' on this video, such as it is, I was aiming for zero cost of access (afterwards ZCoA), which basically means that you don't need to have watched any of the anime used in order to fully understand or appreciate the video. Since practically nobody has ever seen any Kujaku-oh, it's ideal for testing what kind of structuring is required to make a video ZCoA, unlike, say, Cowboy Bebop or Evangelion, which practically everyone has seen at least some of.

The test for ZCoA is simple: if you find yourself thinking that you would probably understand the video more if you had seen the anime beforehand, it's not ZCoA. If you don't find yourself thinking such, I did my job right and we can all go get drunk and play ping-pong.

bonus: anyone who mentions the correct source of the video title in their op wins the original and con-quality MPEG2 versions of this on CD.
