You're forgetting today's comics also consist of scantily clad females with huge boobs and fangs ::coughLADYDEATHcough::

Which is why the comic series Ruse is quickly climbing up my favorites list. It's detectives, not superheroes. Kinda like a cross between Sherlock Holmes and Allan Quartermain. It kicks serious ass.
