This should probably go into Opinion Exchange but anyway... receiving feedback is hard, especially if it's tricky to get your videos (was it you the one with the yahoo briefcase?). People simply won't bother unless they really want to watch your AMV.

Suggestions:

1) Donate to the .ORG, so you'll get the ability to upload your AMVs on the local server

2) Post in the Opinion Exchange... give opinions and (hopefully) you'll receive them :P

Hope this helps ;)

Has the use of the English language truly devolved that much? :?

Posting them in Yahoo may be easy, but easy to get them it is not.

My offer still stand, I can put one of your vidoes on my server to help you get ops.

In case you don't have the stomach to go to her website, her email address is nadine_oliver@hotmail.com. I think if all of us send her emails telling her to learn how to speak proper English or get off the forums...

You people should be english majors. ^_^;;

As for getting effects with wmm, if you don't have windows xp there's only one way to manage that. Right now the 2.0 version is only a beta for xp, but if you download the 2.0 exe file, and the effects folder, etc you can run them on your computer. Let me know and I'll see if I can zip a package of them up for you and transfer it via aim. Just keep in mind that it'll be a little dangerous since they're not properly made for computers besides xp. But really, I don't think it will matter much. And if you have any trouble producing your video (compression makes a *huge* difference with 2.0, and the more detailed the video is the less chance you have of producing it the normal way), just email me and I'll give you the little tricks to get around that. ^_^

I thought you had XP. I was not aware that there was a Windows Movie Maker for any other OS. Also about the WMM 2.0, I have it it is fairly stable. The effects are basic, but I only use AMM to make the clips and assemble them in Vegas. This is becuase Vegas assumes that you have made all the clips you want.

Yeah, I have xp, but I don't think she does.

As for 2.0 - the problem only happens when you have a long timeline with lots of small clips and effects. Once you get so much information in the timeline (especially fast very short cuts and lots of fades/etc), you can't produce it in wmv format. There's just too much information there. Maybe, if you have more than 23gigs free on your computer you can do it, but with 22.8 (like my last vid) free on your harddrive it can't produce the video. You have to cut the clips up and produce them separately (usually in 40 sec sections if the timeline is very complicated - anything over that won't produce). And then, if you have wmm 1.0 you can import that and produce it to avi - you *may* be able to send it was wmv, but depending on the codecs you used, you'll get lines in the footage in wmv. The best bet is to send it out as avi and convert *that* to mpg. So, yeah, lots of bugs. There are a few other ways I've found to get around the problem, but as long as you're doing a long complicated timeline you probably won't be able to produce it - and the more clips and effects you use, the shorter the vid has to be for you to save the movie the normal way. ^_^;;;;
