Forum rules
Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

.hack//SIGN and feared newbies

Post by shinmai » Thu Jul 24, 2003 7:54 pm

Hello and thanks to all those who worked so hard to put this forum together. It is wonderful that a place exists that everyone can share ideas for the making of music videos. I very much wish I had known about this forum before I started to make my first video.

I compiled a video using .hack//SIGN clips wich unfortionatly still had the subtitles in it. Fan sub of course. I was able to remove most of the subtitles using Virtual Dub filters logo and delogo to put a background mask over them from another frame. After reading this and seeing what tools I need I think I will stick to my DVDs next time.

I recieved a few comments from friends one of wich directed me to this forum to learn how to make better videos. Comments were overall positive inspite of the annoying subtitles still left behind.

I do have the video posted in high and low resolution forms. I would recommend looking at the lower resolution one first as a preview to see if it is somthing you want to watch since it is only 3.5 megs and streams on most connections. The higher resolution one is about 28 megs.

Both can be found at http://dreamchaos.net/~minako/ but only for a limited amount of time since I don't want to use up their bandwith quota.

All critique is welcome....but I know already about the subtitles.

Thanks..

oh man...:? i barely lived through that and all i was watching was your 3M preview.

welcome a critique you say? well...for starters....i love that song....the anime is cool as well...:? for some reason, you didn't work it and in the end i was too disappointed to watch the whole thing. one thing is...for your minute long intro...:? you used the first 10 mins of the first episode. not the best way to open up an amv.

i'm probably raining on your parade....but ::shrugs:: meh
