Kinda stupid question I guess....
But how the heck did some of you work up the nerve to IM each other the first time? Guess it just comes from me being a colossal introvert, but no matter how many people here at the forum I add to my contact lists, when I see their names online I can't summon the nerve to actually fling an IM. I feel like they'll think I'm some weird stalker person (yes, I KNOW my account name is Stalker....)
It seems like a lot of you communicate off the forum through IM, so I'm wondering how you gathered the courage to actually type that first "Hi!" And if I'm the only one who feels weird IMing people for the first time.

I feel kinda weird in the IM environment, especially if it involves people from this forum. 'xcept Propyro maybe...
And oh, I wouldn't be caught dead in an actual chatroom... meh, for me forums and message boards is where it's all at. This is where I'm most comfortable and can easily unleash my wildly social side...

The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

It's funny you should bring this up. I usually *don't* IM people, but every time I turn on aim, someone contacts me. I even got a strange one today that contacted me for the sole purpose of warning me.
I don't think it really takes courage, though, just a whole lot of boredom. I only IM someone if I have a specific question to ask, and so far that's happened twice. In my lifetime. Twice. So yeah, people on aim are strange, bored, and friendly people.
But the chat room's different - it's just like an instant forum; spam and random insanity. ^_^
