Excellent quote, and appropriate in case anyone missed my sarcastically simplistic tone of voice. If newbies want to give advice to their brethren, let them. If the old-news style information bores you, ignore it. Besides, as I think Oministrata and Otohiko (and others) have already noted - the people who'd really benefit from the advice in this thread don't come into the forums. That doesn't mean people shouldn't try to help the few who do, so the idea of this thread has as much merit as Omni's posts - genuine wish to help. There's no need to diss that just because the wish and attempt is being made by a new member. ^_^ Fair play and all. I didn't see Omni getting hasseled for saying something that's 'old news' - and the debate over dbz on the org (and overused songs, etc) has been going on for years. There's still no solution, so people still have a right to attempt a solution, newbie or not.

This topic is a nice try, but unless the warning's going to be placed for reading before a new member uploads or links a vid using an overdone anime or song, it's not going to be much use.

*shrugs* I've been seeing these threads since I joined a year ago... If y'all still think they're relevant, go right ahead. And yes... I think join date does matter... If the topics creator had a join date of 6 months ago, he would have seen at least 3 of these threads by now. Rather than complain about the problem, he would have just moved on.

On the other hand, a thread like this that's actually ALIVE and near the top of the page will keep the current up-and-coming n00bs advised. Noone ever looks what's been written in threads beyond the first page!

Plus, there's nothing really unhealthy about discussing the same topic over and over... though it's probably boring and redundant for those who read enough about it by now. And if we're talking join dates - look at Omni's - he's still going on about it! And I'm not about to stop him
