Well, that depends. If ALL the amvs mentioned use the same song and ALL of them are good, then wtf? The song is alive and kicking.

When there's 1000 amvs using the same song and 997 of them are of poor quality and horrible timing, then fuck yeah, that song is like beating a stick with a dead horse...

After those numbers you'll get marked down for originality, whether that makes the song dead, I don't know.

Welllll, people have whined about originality when I've used a new song, new source, and an artist that's only been used 5 times before... soooo... basically people will bitch about anything.

Personally, I don't rule anything out, but if a song has already been used in a video that I like, I will be reminded of it when I watch yours. I can't help that. But if your video is unique or good enough to overcome that barrier, it's possible I won't care.

Can't speak for The Community (tm), but that's one viewer's take.

Personally I consider the song unusable after it has finally been done in a perfect amv, or when it is done very well. After it has been used in that kind of amv, I rarely download other videos using the same song.
