Do you watch your amv's or other's?
I'm just curious if amv creators (like my self) watch their own amv's. Or are you more like Robert Dinero who fall's asleep during some of his own movies? Usually I only watch my own for a couple of days, then it seems to get old and bad too me.
So, do u watch it or just make it?
Another question.
When you do make your amv; do u perfer headphones or speakers?
I perfer headphones, cause u can concentrate on the music, instead of what's going on around u.

I live alone, so I don't have to worry about background noise, and I think I prefer speakers over headphones as a rule. I watch a lot of other people's vids in between projects, but when I get a review I'll rewatch that amv for a while. And sometimes I'll just get the urge to go through old favorites. And, of course, right after I make a vid I'm known to put it on constant repeat for hours and just bask in the story until I'm numb.
I'm a big fan of my own work, no matter how poor it is, but I *do* try to watch as many amvs as I can get downloaded.

I like watching others and learning from them, than comparing them to mine and realizing my stupid mistakes...
And the mistakes of others...
If I didn't, I'd be a newb forever...

I enjoy watching my own vids and those of other creators. I enjoy watching other creators vids due to the fact i like to see other peoples "takes" on the same animes. I will also learn things from other creators animes, and even the rare occasion of being inspired by another creator's AMV. And at the same time i like to watch my own vids, so i wills ee what i had done wrong and sometimes my own vids will even give me ideas for a future video.
And when i watch AMVs i always use my speaker syaytem, it's too good not to.

Well, every now and then when I am really board and I'm waiting for a 75MB video download I like to take a look at one or two of mine for a minute or two while the download finishes.keyboardsamurai wrote:I'm just curious if amv creators (like my self) watch their own amv's. Problem is, I get sleepy when I watch my own stuff. And I don't like that.

I don’t tend to watch a whole lot of my own vids. I am proud of them, yes! But I find that I am too over critical of my own work. If I watch a fresh vid too much I find myself going back and trying to perfect even the smallest stuff. I get so hung up on perfecting and that my stuff isn't good enough that I end up a week down the road cowering in the corner of my bedroom muttering under my breath:
"can't sleep, premiere will eat me"
"can't sleep, premiere will eat me"
"can't sleep, premiere will eat me"
"can't sleep, premiere will eat me"
In fact the only project to date that I have been totally satiated with has been my EOE vid.
For this reason I only watch my stuff at convention where I can’t drive myself nuts picking it apart. I get far too hung up on "damn I'm good" sydrome.

yup thats the same with me. im still no where near a lot of creators are today. im too lazy to experiment with premiere just because its a pain in the ass to use. but the results are good. i thought about doing a trailer for my first vid with premiere too lazy. ive tried using it though its very complicated. and after affects is even more complicated even after reading the user manuals.OmniStrata wrote:I like watching others and learning from them, than comparing them to mine and realizing my stupid mistakes...
