Encode using the specific settings in the guide.
It's not that hard. If I can do it and I'm 11 and a half and you're what, 15? It's not that hard.

I got a 3:13 video at 480x320 res down to I believe 32MB in SBC DivX 3.11 from Nandub and 36MB from XviD.

The MPEG 1 version isn't as bad as I thought it was but the MPEG 2 when compressed correctly will be running Monday if you don't want to watch this version of the video. But if you do watch it and you know I have the MPEG 2 version coming out please rate it as though it was the MPEG 2 if you can. So you don't hurt the rating because we put alot of time making the MPEG 2 and it is great. So hope to hear from you all. And thanks for putting up with my shit.

I don't know if there's any actual ethics for rating amvs, but I don't think it's right to download one version of a video and intentionally rate it as if it were a higher quality version. Even if a person knows you have a higher quality, if they can't see it they can't tell how much better the visuals and audio are - so either way rating it as if it were a higher quality vid is going to be dishonest. If you're really worried about an mpg1 version ruining your scores just ask that people not review that version - use it to encourage them to download the larger version which will get you the ratings you want. But if you're that worried about ratings in general, I'd say your priorities are a little askew. No offense intended, but no matter how much better the mpg2 version is, people can still find fault with it just the same as mpg1 - in fact, I'd be tougher on scoring a higher quality vid. I take format and file size into account when scoring things like visual and audio, and I doubt I'm the only one.

Anyway, you know I'm not partial to fileplanet, but if I did download the vid it would be a smaller version, and I'm sorry to say I would rate it as the version I downloaded, not as some version I've never seen. So I won't be downloading, since I can't abide by your wishes in regards to rating the video.

Your right. Fine I'll have the new version ready soon. If you don't care about the quality go ahead and download now. But if you do please wait until some time on Monday or Tuesday for the higher quality version.

I just want to say I'm sorry I can't get the larger version, but it's my connection, not that I'm not willing to wait for it to download. At present my internet connection cuts out every 6-8hrs, and it takes me at least 6hrs to download a 50mb video when I'm not using a download accelerator. I've spent days getting vids that are 80mbs, and I know I'd never be able to get anything over that. It isn't that I don't want to, it's that I can't without a higher connection, and right now I don't want to dish out money for a higher connection. And I don't feel like messing with my internet provider (I'm too lazy).

Actually it is a 40.3 MB video. So that may take off an hour or so.
