Con's can't afford as much as peopel think...Nappy wrote:I wish cons would put out more money so no one has to pay outta their pocket just to get a contest running :l
and AMV equipment is rather expensive... and alot of the equipment to get it right can't be rented... so no con can justify the cost for a single use per year

I guess what I am trying to think about... i what besides donations are still considered acceptable for fund raising?Zarxrax wrote:In my opinion, its ok to take donations for whatever you want. I mean, they are DONATIONS, no one is being forced to pay. A girl got donations to get a boob job done, so I see nothing wrong with taking donations for whatever reason, even just "i want some money plz donate"
and this is not a specific question... right now I am just trying to stimulate discussion

Said Cause would have to be associated with a convention. I would not send my money to the causes' organizers unless I knew them and was personally invovled in the cause. In terms of donating money, I would send money to the convention organizers, who would then be in charge of allocating funds to the cause's organizers. While a tad bit more complex, this would provide some level of accountability and a paper trail.Quu wrote:ok... lets say its for a casue that you would suport...
then what methods would be acceptable... or is donation it?
