My favorite was Beyond Zork, though I could never get that damn mirror puzzle right near the end. Even with the help file. I kind of suck.
Nah, you don't suck. That mirror puzzle WAS a pain in the ass. You needed to use the cheesy little graphical map in the top right corner to figure out what direction to turn the bubble-mirrors to reflect sunlight all the way down the passage. And if you didn't do it fast enough, the mirrors would pop >.<
Anyway, I liked that whole series, and the first graphical one was pretty cool too. :) (The last one I played...Nemesis? - was interesting, since I like those Myst-like games, but way too dark for a Zork title. The sense of humor is part of the fun of it, but there were hardly any light moments and some REALLY dark moments in that one. :? So that's kind of eh.)
Zork Nemesis scared the living hell out of me  The Asylum...::shudder:: Gotta love the sick and twisted folks at ActiVision.

It's great to see another Zork fan out there!

Yeah, I was thinking primarily of the asylum (though the haunted theater was a little creepy in its own way). Gah. Just.... gah.

And about the mirror puzzle, I couldn't even seem to get it *with* the answer in front of me. ^_^;; I may try it again sometime, but it's frustrating to get all the way to that point and stop. (Heck, I even keep the minx from getting killed because I'm a huge softy. 8) )

Anyway, that is cool. :) It's got a little cult following, but you hardly ever hear about it.

I used to play the Atari 2600 when I was a kid, and my parents had plenty of games, but my favorites were Dragonfire, Space Invaders, Warlords, Outlaw, and Combat.

Of course, I'm still addicted to Pong and Tetris. My sister has the Tetris/Dr. Mario game cartridge for the Super Nintendo, and whenever I am bored, my mother challenges me to that game.

Another favorite of mine was the first Road Rash game. The Banzai 700 was a well-rounded superbike to ride, and I never upgraded to anything else while I beat the tar out of cops.

However, I've given up on video games. The only thing I really "play" anymore is Warcraft II, and that's just to experiment with guerrilla warfare tactics.

The funest thing was to take the other guys chain and whip cops with that.

You could always try a Windows 98 bootdisk. Or purchase an old Pentium.

Castle (not the rts one, it's an rpg shareware that came on a 5.25... basically an ICO but not 3d or ps2...) or some cgi special like Prince of Persia or Duke Nukem (think Matrix Cubed was the 2nd one I played... I forget the first... BUT IT WAS PURPLE!!) or Starflight and some such.
I d/led Starflight but I need like the dozen starmaps and crap that came with it (it was stored with the kleenex' to let off the smell I KID)

Heh bad move alot of the Old dos stuff won't run on a pentium. I would suggest like 486 80 or something. Wing commander is one big example that comes to mind. Put it on a pentium and its on super duper crack.
