Don't they judge or at least screen the vids to cut out the crap before they decide what to show? (You can tell I know nothing about cons

).
But seriously, would they show a video that's going to make people groan and fidget wishing it would just end already?

I dunno, I think seeing people vomit watching "Asuka's Last Stand" at a con would be pretty funny. :p

Don't send it to AX or Otakon.

Seriously. If you want a snowball's chance in hell of getting recognition and not being known as "I think I saw that video along with 90 others in the video room", start small. The current chance, based on sheer probability of getting into Otakon is 16.667%, and if you allocate 10 spots for the usual suspects (the people who consistently make great videos and make the finals), the chances are really around 11.556%. It's an ego killer for all but the best, and if you're just starting out, it's going to be a near guaranteed burn.

Submitting to AX or Otakon, however, is a sure-fire way to manipulate bets and dares in your favor, especially for someone who doesn't know how hard it is.

"If my video makes Otakon, I'll do [insert horrendously stupid thing here]"
"Deal!"

For 99% of the creators here, you're practically never guaranteed to do [horrendously stupid thing], unless [equally horrendously unlikely Act of God] occurs...

Of course, this is all hypothetical. I don't know anyone who has actually DONE this.

Hm, well, if you're going for that, I'd say don't send it to AWA, either. It only has the largest AMV panel in the world.. =\

Personally, the cons I tried to send my vids to were FITcon and Ohayocon.

Of course only one got somewhere(Fitcon).

Anyway, start off at small cons, and see what happenes to your vid there.
