Writing a FAQ about entering your AMV is a contest...

Post by nitram » Sat Jun 07, 2003 12:54 pm

I am in the process of writing a FAQ about entering a video in a AMV contest. I am curently planning on addressing Format and Audio Issues as well as a few other things.

This is mostly designed at what I as a AMV contest runner/editor would like to get in your submition and why. This is in no means a guide on how to make a AMV but more along a guide on how you should enter/submit your video. In fact I don't plan on addressing content of video at all (except for intros and outros).

Any questions that you have please let me know as I am attempting to make this a thourough as possible the first time around.

Thank's

"Writing a FAQ about entering you AMV in a contest"

That's still wrong actually :p....

"Writing -an- FAQ about entering -your- AMV -into- a contest"
-there you go!

Learn your grammar, and then perhaps you could think of writing a coherent guide. ^_^

Well considering that I usually type this stuff in while I am answering tech calls I sometime mess up typing things. Go figure, and I was planning on running the FAQ through serveral people as editors to try and keep the grammer / spelling flames down to a minimum.

I'd suggeste talking to Quu, if you haven't already. As he does the online submissions for a number of cons now, he runs into and knows a lot of the mistakes a lot of people make. Of course, the majority of the mistakes are a result of one over-riding problem: Not reading the rules. Or perhaps just not really taking them seriously...

If you can add a list of contests that showcase amvs for non competition in your FAQ, that would help.

Getting shown on the big screen in front of the crowd non competing (AWA, Otakon, Akon) is better than not getting shown at all (*cough*AnimeExpo*cough*).
