Excessive Graphic Violence

Post by MindBug » Sat Jun 07, 2003 4:54 pm

I was going to upload my video for Battousai Fatali but came across the warning for sexual or violent videos. What are the guidelines for what is considered too violent for the sight. Everyone here has seen the orginal Kenshin OAV right, would this be appropriate. Basically I'm wondering how serious they are about that for voilence in videos? Thanks

Had this question myself, but it seems pretty serious in that most hellsing vids aren't allowed :(

One of my videos has Hellsing in it, so I didn't bother putting up locally. I think "excessive violence" means causing serious bloody wounds or death, and that would definitely apply to the Kenshin OAV's. And possibly Angelic Layer

Well, I think it depends on the video personally. I video that has the one or two brief bloody scenes, I'd let slide. A video like the one I saw at ACen '03, that was nothing but the goriest parts of Asuka's Last Stand with horrible synch and timing, I'd label as worthy of the excessive label.

IMHO, excessive is defined by context. For example, most episodes of Berserk, while violent, are not excessive because it is demanded by the story. However, a four minute video of nothing but Guts hacking people to shreds is excessive because it is nothing but horrific scenes of violence.

on a whim... im gonna take a guess that ure using Liberi Fatali for this video. So... Liberi Fatali + Kenshin OVA = Excessive Violence w/ some "soft" scenes in between.
IMO- in comparison to Hellsing, KOVA prob was more gorey in several aspects but enough to get u by and not go " omg he slit him to pieces", whereby Hellsing would have one or two scenes that make u go "omg he slit him to pieces"!!!
I would actually like to see this vid, but if my guess is right u shouldnt put it up

I really think there is a limit, but if you can upload a DBZ video I think you can upload a few other , just because DBZ don't show alot of blood don't mean that its not violent as hell, and in most hellsing scenes the bad guys turn to dust anyways
