Bandai Trailers Kick Absolute ASS!!! Who is Doing them??

Post by rubyeye » Mon Jun 02, 2003 10:36 pm

Does anybody know who they got to do their new trailers?

First it was Argentosoma, then Geneshaft, now Scryed and I can't wait to see how they do Witch Hunter Robin....

But who the hell is putting this stuff together? It's fantastic!! That's what I want to start doing now!

Is is an ex-AMV maker? Or maybe this guy has just been studying our stuff...

Does anybody know?

::General Comment::
Bandai is the only company that actually MAKES (good) Trailers for their titles, unlike others <ADV> who just play or re-edit series openings and label them as "trailers".
Central Park has done a few but they suck or rather they are not as impressive mostly due to the style of the anime they acquire (and how they edit it).
Pioneer has done some pretty good ones lately.

I know Richard Kekahuna used to make trailers for Bandai and he was pretty decent at it. Wouldn't surprise me if he still makes trailers since he works for the company.

I think Maboroshi also made a trailer for bandai recently...

Didn't Vlad Pohnert mention working on a trailer for Bandai? Crest of the Stars, I believe was the anime.

Maboroshi made the Big O trailer found on Bandai's website. They might've changed it or removed it; it's been a while since I last saw it.

Has anyone else seen Bandai's trailer for what *they* would do, were they to acquire the Sailor Moon license? 8) Hilariously atrocious in every single way.

I think the current highend trailers were produced in a Hollywood studio at great cost from what I was told from Vlad while we were chatting at Jacon. I think Vlad and I both share the same view on making trailers for Bandai... it was fun and something to look back at, but more work than it is worth.

I made a few for Bandai

Hack/sign

Gundam: 08th MS
Gundam: Endless Waltz Movie
Gundam: 0083
Gundam: War in the Pocket (one of my favs, but cut due to budget)

Big O (ugh I hated this series)
Dark Soldier D (violent sentai... u gotta love it)

I also did their Silent Mobious website

I haven't had much time to do anymore freelance work for Bandai recently, but it was fun making the trailers I did for them.

As did I. I don't know how you have the patience to put the time into making a Big (N)O trailer. I'd throw the source material out the window in a good hour :).

I can already see the Big O flames coming (just like when I say I dislike Fushigi Yuugi of Lain).
