Cross atlantic productions in the works. Apply now.

Post by gypsy » Tue May 20, 2003 1:50 am

Good day.

I want to start an Cross atlantic Production group.

The idea is to have no more than 2 people from the same continent in 1 team. I want people from various parts of the globe. Like 2 from america, 2 from europe, 2 from south africa, 2 from australia, 2 from asia/japan and other parts if their interested. If a single person is interested and we are already over the 2 persons limit I'm sure we could make a plan.

I want to start small for now. If we have like 30 people from over the globe it's bound to turn VERY chaotic very quick. After all the structures are in place and I can see that we are having alot of sucess we could accept more members.

If there are poeple from other parts of the world willing to join just ask.

Requirements.

You must be a dedicated person. (Be able to finish a job once started)
Not mind being up at late times to communicate with certain members of the team (Some very diferrent time zones) / 2 wait for reply's via e-mail
Location.

Generally making amv's is a fun hobby. This is fine and I have no problem with making an AMV that's just for the hell of it. Though if we all do a joint venture we should strive to do the est we can.
The benefit from having people from over the globe is that wcan share cross cultural information and use that in our amv's. I might see something really neat in my country and tell you about something that might enspire you to do some great things.
We could help each other with hosting problems and with website ideas. The reasons is limitless.
A combined group is better in every aspect over a single person.

I could list reasons all day, but the bottom line is this.

If your an dedicated person, like to chat & send e-mails, want to learn a bit more about the other cultures, not scared of working in a group, and wont stop until a project is just perfect, then you should really apply.

I have some big projects I want to finish as well that can only be done by a "Cross Atlantic Group" but I'll tell more for the people that's REALLY interested.

If you want to find out a little more about myself check out the about page on my website.

All reply's / interested persons can send me an e-mail @ cleone81@ananzi.co.za
All opinions / flamings / questions should be posted in the forum.
You can find me on AIM on weekends from Vriday 7pm to Sunday 22pm (+2 GMT)

That might be so.

But seeing as most of the "BIG" guys are already in a Group / don't want to be in a group I'm looking for the new promising talent of tomorrow.

People who'll be able to grow and learn from each other. Though it wouldn't hurt if one of the "Big Fish" would join.

This idea is really interesting, I'd love to join such a group, but it seems I wouldn't spend enough time to meet your criteria ("be able to speak late in the night", "never drop a project", etc...)

I guess I'm not serious enough for this idea ?
Anyway I'd be interested if this wouldn't mean "I sell my entire life to CAPG" ...

So can somebody who still wants to consider AMVs as hobby (which implies that I will not spend my whole free time doing this...) join ?

Could you also give examples of some of the projects you have in mind ?

I dont mind people making amv's as a hobby at all.

As a matter of fact I do so as well and sometimes go months without making an amv (My latest one was completed in march and I'm waiting for Hoshi no koe DVD before I make my next one)

The only thing I might have a problem with is if we all pitch in for 1 BIG project and a person sais yes and the 1 week before due date sais no.

Other than that.
Your more than welcome to join.

B.T.W. you made the Wazap AMV. Right ?

I wanted to make an amv on that but you beat me to the punch. :(
Very well done.

I really agree with that. Yet the problem is that some people are very motivated by some projects, but sometimes have to give up for personnal reasons.

And IMO, any reason can be good enough to make a pause in what is "only" a hobby.

Believe me. I'm currently in charge of a huge AMV project, and sometimes even the most motivated creators have to cancel their participation owing to personnal issues.

Working with other creators really takes lots of time (months when you don't personally know the creators) , this leads to that kind of problem that you can't avoid, even with people that you trust.

(This is, again, because AMV is a hobby and there are things more important than that...)

I think it's interesting. But I'll wait before joining because I'm currently working on other projects (and I have to find what I'll do of my life before september...)

Also, I'd really like "examples" of the projects you imagine for this group...

This sounds very interesting... I can dedicate myself to a project, yes the motivation has returned.
Current Motivation: Obliterating the competition at Manifest, or even obliterating their competition, nah that's not very nice.

My main concern is the connection with the said production team. Occasional projects, full-time commitment, some other arrangement. I'm not exactly in a situation to be doing anything solid. Count me interested, but doubtful.

What if you don't really have a "home" as such? I travel a lot and spend more time in hotel rooms than I do at "home".
