Post by HellBlazer » Tue Mar 18, 2003 7:08 pm

Well... i jus found out that someone i knew from my old school died this weekend in a car accident. He was a senior and was doing good in school. Though he wasnt really my friend or anything.. i still knew the guy and iv chatted with him a few times before. One other died in the accident.. i didnt know who she was. And his younger brother and sister were hospitilized in critical condition. The other driver.. wasnt really in bad condition.... :| The first 4 all attended my old school.. and its really a shame how dumb shit like this happens.. :x Heres the artical from the local newspaper(1st artical)

http://www.newsargus.com/newsport/today.html

This isnt the only time someone from my school has died.. id say about 10 students have died since iv been in hs.. and a few of them i knew. Crap like this really gets me pissed. I mean... all he had was 2 more months before he was going to graduate... and BOOM hes dead. :? Which is the exact reason i really dont try very hard in school... shit like this can happen anytime, anywhere, and to anyone. Has anything like this happend to yall before? Any friends of yours?

I've had some students deaths and suiceds where I are too. Hmm. Lets me try to remember. I can only think of 3.

One from Cancer.

One kid was out of state and fell from his hotel balcony. The school said it was an accident, but most of the population knows he was drunk and tried to jump into the pool from I don't remember how many floors up.

And the latest was a suicide attempt IN the school. He supermaned from the 2nd floor balcony all the way down to the first. A good 15-20 feet. School tried saying this was an accident to, but when u have people screaming "HOLY SHIT. HE JUMPED" when u walk by, and the railings are too high to fall over. It wasn't an "accident."

I knew none of them.

Things like this happen and will continue to happen throughout your life. It's not fun but it's something you have to deal with in life. Sure it can happen at anytime, anywhere, or to anybody, but that doesn't mean you should give up. It's just the cycle of life. The only thing you can really do is live your life the best way you can.

When people die, they live on through their actions on this earth. These people you knew have had an impact on your life through actions they have taken. Through this impact their deeds on this earth are noted and remembered, even in the short time they've been here on earth. It's not meaningless.

So what is my point? Don't get frustrated. Having a sense of hoplessness is a downward spiral. Instead, remember them as they were. Keep them in your thoughts. Don't let them become the tree in forest that nobody heard fall and use the memories as inspiration for why you should try harder - because it wasn't you. You still have a chance to make an impact on peoples lives and you still have a future. Don't blow it cause you are dwelling on what might happen.

I'm sorry to hear about the losses.

I unfortunetely have to say that my school has lost some students. Last year there were 3 deaths (suicide [hung himself at home] and 2 natural deaths by staff, well by sickness I mean). This year there has been 2 deaths already (suicide [jump in front of subway] and cancer). Such sad times...

I'm sorry for the loss of those students.

We have had a few student deaths from my high school, all car "accidents" (no suicides). I knew some of the people that died. None of them deserved what happened, but their deaths were their own faults.

Two of them were going home from a party where there was lots of drinking. They were going way to fast around a curve and lost traction and flew off the road into some trees.
Another was going about 110 on a 2-lane road that is very hilly. He decided to drive on the wrong side of the road. When he came over the top of a hill there was a garbage truck heading straight for him. He swerved and went flipping off into a pasture just a mile or two from my house.

I don't believe any of these people had on seat belts.

It's just fortunate that these people's poor decisions didn't physically hurt any inocent bystanders, though the mental toll was quite strong for many of the students at school.

None of my friends have died so far, but the grandma, sister, mother, brother, grandpa, and watchman of people I knew died within the past eight months since I came to college, more deaths than I'd seen in my lifetime (of people directly related to me, I mean).
I like bugging people. Deal with it.

My HS was pretty big, and mostly upper-crust. (Not me, though :( ) 'Cause of that, there were a lot of 16-18 yr. olds getting brand new cars for their birthdays.

'Cause of that, 11 died in car wrecks the years I was there. Lost one more to leukemia. Large enough school that I didn't really know any of 'em except the kid who got cancer. (He rallied halfway through the treatment after they amputated a leg. He came back to school for a month and a half, then the cancer resurfaced and he died.)
Als Gregor Samsa eines Morgens aus unruhigen Träumen erwachte, fand er sich in seinem Bett zu einem ungeheueren Ungeziefer verwandelt.

This makes you think which direction society is heading nowadays. I'm not talking about the deaths that weren't the students' fault, but instead the suicide/stupidity deaths.

I have a theory:

Earth can only hold a limited amount. In our early history, when there wasn't billions and billions of people, the birth/death ratio was rather normal. As we humans have been multiplying and multiplying, more causes of death have been arising to balance out the massive population increase. Take cancer for example; the number of cases has increased drastically.

Nature is balancing itself out...

A couple years agothere was a couple of kids that died in a car crash.
Everyone was really sad I was too. The Kids in the back had critical injuries.

AND

At the school im at now, there was a boy that died when his 4 wheeler crashed and burned :? The kid was only 12 years old T_T.

Shit happens though, you just have to be ready to adapt to it i guess.

I wish things like that didnt happen though....
