Computer games don't affect kids. I mean, if Pac Man affected us as kids, we'd all run around in a darkened room, munching pills, and listening to repetitive music~Kristian Wilson, CEO, Nintendo Gaming Corporation

Good for you!!Chaos Angel wrote:Yes, I, too, wish that American animation would be taken more seriously. Hopefully, I can do something about that... I am planning to take animation production classes in conjunction with my filmmaking major next semester...
I am in the midst of trying to get this comic book out, but I am trying to find places where I can also get involved with animation of higher standards in the US. I'm a writer, not an artist and I have been working on ideas to promote through some of my own connections.
Good luck to you on your endeavors!

Plain and simple, Gargs on Toon Disney SUCKS! They edit the episodes that they air, and won't play Deadly Force at all, which is a great episode! I know someone who has all the episodes on Beta tape, and will be digitizing them to high quality DivX soon, so watch out for those. If you wanna get in touch with the oldest Gargoyles fan group on the internet (Been in operation since 1993), visit www.s8.org/gargoyles and www.gargoyles-fans.org - Plus, even tho it's not affiliated with Station 8 much anymore, the original Gargoyles chat room still exists on irc.tenament.com in #Gargoyles

beta sucks.
So in other words, one part of the community is waging war on another part of the community because they take their community seriously enough to want to do so. Then they tell the powerless side to get over the loss cause it's just an online community. I'm glad people make so much sense." -- Tab

It has superior visual quality to VHS, and isn't as quirky as SVHS. That's why he taped them all on Beta. With Beta, you have a much sharper and more color-precise image, and on top of that, the chance of degradation over time is reduced. With VHS, you get degradation even on a first copy, the color starts dying down immediately, and your degradation over time is much worse. And then there's S-VHS, vastly superior to VHS, and also superior in visual quality to Beta. However, it still suffers some of the same problems VHS had as far as degradation.CaTaClYsM wrote:beta sucks.
So really, the only downside to beta is that the decks ate the tapes more often, and if you have a newer BetaMax deck, you don't really have to worry about it anyway.
The truth of the matter is that the motion picture industry stuck with the VHS standard, so stores went to VHS standard, Beta fell behind, and eventually all but died. If you wanna be technical, the only reason VHS dominated was because more money was dumped onto it for some reason. I bet it was at the toss of a coin.

actually Super VHS has 400 lines of resolution, exactly the same as Betas. Beta just sucks because the tapes are more expensive and isn't as popular as VHS. Isn't that right klinky?

If I remember correctly, somebody in the AMV chat said that Gargoyles was originally going to continue into more seasons, and even expand into spin-off series. I dunno if that's true, but I'm a little less skeptic since the same person who told me that gave me this link to the scripts of those un-made Gargoyles seasons and spin-off series.
It's a part of the one of the two sites Garylisk mentioned earlier.
