To answer the original question, I tend to prefer GT. It has less filler episodes and sagas compared to Z. However, I found the ending quite disappointing, because it left WAY too much of a gap of information for fanfics to fill in.
But if you're asking which is better, you'll never get a straight answer. It's like asking whether a PC or Mac is better, which religion is best, and so on.

Back to Freeza for a moment, I agree that he was indeed the best foe and it should of ended with him, I mean, for once you actually get the see the all mighty supersaiyan and freeza duke it out in one of the most climactic battles the series ever had, since the planet was having an all out meltdown, it made it all the more interesting..even though theys stretched 5 minutes into something of 15 episodes....woof..oh well..

ok i think dbz is better than dbgt. dbgt was mostly filler and some parts made no sense. like why goku's an adult when he goes ssj4. But think dbz should have ended right after cell. even though the series peeked at frieza. but after cell did have good points like the majin vegeta stuff. and regeneration is gay. if they're all powerful they wouldnt need it. but one thing i didnt like about frieza was the transormations. he should have only had 2. the conseritive form in that floaty thing. and his most reconized final form.
I will obey the <a href=http://www.animemusicvideos.org/phpBB/v ... =289>forum rules</a> for avatar image size.

DBZ seems to have more plot holes than GT, from what I've seen.
- In Guldo's flashback, Vegeta's tail is missing. It shouldn't be.
- Gohan has a nightmare about Cell in the Room of Spirit & Time, but he's never seen Cell before.
- Bulma says that they should use the dragonballs to find Dr Gero's lab after Trunks tells them of the future. But during the battle with the androids, Bulma explains where his lab is after #20 escapes.
- Vegeta mentions in the Cell saga that a pure-blooded Saiyan's hair never changes. However, Nappa has hair in the Bardock Special but is bald in the series. (There's also a plothole like this involving Vegeta in GT, so yeah, that's one for you.
)
- Freeza mentions that Saiyans can't breathe in space, but Vegeta & Nappa both stand outside their space pods while they're destroying a planet earlier in the series.
- King Kai tells the story of how the Planet Vegeta was destroyed by a swarm of meteors brought to the planet by it's guardian, but clearly that's not the case when actually Frieza blew the thing up.
- The Eternal Dragon says at one point that "there is no wish I cannot grant", however we see many times over that the guy's got limits.
- Nameks do not eat food, but in Kami's flashback of coming to Earth we see him eating fish.
- Piccolo takes about 3 years to grow to his fully grown form, while it takes around 20 years for Dende to do so.
- When Cell's upper torso is blown apart from Goku's Kamehameha, he regenerates. But Cell requires his brain to regenerate a piece of his body.
- In the Cell saga, it is said that only two people can go into the Room of Spirit & Time at once. However in the Buu saga, up to four people enter it at once.
- Bulma mentions in the Buu saga that Dragon Radars are specially made and require irreplacable parts. However, back when Goku was a kid, Turbo made one out of old airplane parts.
I think that's the longest post I've ever done, and it has to do with DBZ of all things. *sigh* -_- Go figure.

Actually, most of those are not plot holes. They're what happens when people who don't know what they're dooing horribly overstretch an already long anime series.
The only ones found in the manga are:
- The Eternal Dragon says at one point that "there is no wish I cannot grant", however we see many times over that the guy's got limits.
- Piccolo takes about 3 years to grow to his fully grown form, while it takes around 20 years for Dende to do so. (Though one could argue this was because piccolo is a fighting-type namek...)
Too moch DB knowledge... and it sucks. Why is it that it is only useless stuff that I remember?
