It all Anime TV shows there is a cute fuzzy type animal creature.

Examples:
PenPen = EVA
Mokona = Magic Knight Rayearth
Everyone = Ranma

Prove me wrong and I owe you some sortta thingy....

There's almost always a cute and fuzzy creature in an anime so that it can go to a broader audience. Ever play a video game and choose to play as the funny looking character because all of the others seem unfamiliar? That's why. I think nearly everything needs some comic relief, or a character foil every once in a while, but some cute characters can be taken too far.
